Summary: Bridge Defense seeks a highly qualified Technology Operations Specialist who will support the organization’s technology environment by maintaining reliable IT systems, improving operational processes, and enabling employees across the company. This role will troubleshoot technical issues, automate routine tasks, strengthen existing capabilities, and collaborate with teams across the organization to deliver effective technology solutions.

 

As part of the Infrastructure, Security, and Technology Operations (IST) team, the Technology Operations Specialist will support Bridge Defense’s Northern Virginia office and contribute to the continued development of the company’s technology infrastructure. Over time, this role will take on increasing ownership of specific technology areas and initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily operation, reliability, and security of Bridge Defense’s IT environment, including endpoints, identity systems, cloud services, and network infrastructure.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID, including user provisioning, access management, conditional access policies, and identity governance.
  • Support Microsoft 365 environments, including both GCC and GCC High tenants, while understanding the operational and compliance requirements associated with each.
  • Manage endpoint configuration, security, and compliance using Microsoft Intune and related management tools across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving hardware, software, identity, connectivity, and user access.
  • Maintain and improve IT processes, systems, and documentation to increase reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop scripts and automation to streamline administrative tasks, reporting, troubleshooting, and routine operations.
  • Apply security best practices in daily operations, including identifying risks, escalating concerns, and supporting compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with evaluating and implementing new technology solutions through research, testing, and documented recommendations.
  • Support network infrastructure, including firewall administration, DNS management, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Participate in change management processes by proposing, documenting, testing, and implementing configuration changes.
  • Maintain IST documentation, including standard operating procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base content.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify opportunities for internal automation and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with employees across the organization to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience supporting endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune or similar MDM platforms.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows and macOS environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting and administering network infrastructure, including firewalls and DNS.
  • Basic Linux administration and command-line experience.
  • Ability to write scripts for automation and troubleshooting using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of identity and authentication concepts, including SSO, SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust security principles, including least privilege access, identity-based security, continuous verification, and device trust.
  • Understanding of PKI concepts, certificates, encryption fundamentals, and basic key management principles.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and apply foundational concepts to new tools and platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to connect individual technical issues to broader system impacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical processes clearly.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Microsoft GCC High or other regulated/government cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, or NIST 800-53 security frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender security products, including Defender for Cloud Apps.
  • Experience with incident management platforms or SIEM tools.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation libraries or knowledge bases.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Network+
  • Experience working in defense, intelligence, government contracting, or other regulated environments.
  • Active security clearance or previous clearance eligibility.

General Factors:

  • Depending on project requirements, may be required to work within a compressed schedule; overtime should be expected when schedules demand it.
  • Willing to travel, if needed.
  • No Relocation.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long-periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice.


Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000–$90,000 USD annually, based on experience and qualifications.


Location: This position is fully onsite at our current Washington, D.C. office. Please note that our office is expected to relocate to the Rosslyn/Arlington, Virginia area in the coming months, and the position will remain onsite following the relocation.
