Vice President, Product

About Disco

Disco powers a next-generation commerce media network connecting 1,000+ eCommerce advertisers to consumers across some of the world's most recognizable retail platforms — Mindbody, Gopuff, Fabletics, Knitwell Group (Chico's, Talbots, Lane Bryant), and more. When a consumer books a yoga class or buys a new pair of jeans, Disco's recommendation engine surfaces relevant, brand-safe offers from other consumer brands, turning everyday transactions into moments of discovery.

Since 2021, we've raised ~$30M from Felicis, Bessemer, Shopify, Sugar Capital, RiverPark, and Indicator. Today we drive $1B+ in GMV across 150M+ permissioned U.S. shopper profiles — and we're approaching profitability as an owner-operated platform business.

We're building Disco the way platforms should be built in 2026: small teams, AI as a force multiplier, ML in the core loop, and a bias for shipping over coordinating.

About The Role

This is not a traditional VP Product role. We're not looking for someone to manage a PM org, run quarterly planning rituals, or translate between engineering and the business. We're looking for a builder-operator who happens to be the most senior product thinker in the room — someone who ships with Claude Code at 11pm, prototypes in Lovable before writing a PRD, and treats LLMs, agents, and ML systems as first-class teammates in the product development loop.

You'll own Disco's product vision, roadmap, and execution across both sides of the marketplace — supply and demand — with a mandate to move yield, performance, and defensibility. You'll lead Product, Design, Data, and PMM, and partner tightly with Engineering, GTM, and the founder. But more than anything, you'll be judged on what ships and what it moves.

If the phrase "AI-native product org" makes you want to roll up your sleeves instead of roll your eyes, keep reading.

What You'll Drive

Marketplace Performance & ML-Driven Optimization

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for ranking, bidding, decisioning, and yield optimization — we're building proprietary ML infrastructure in-house and you'll help shape it
  • Define the marketplace levers that matter: bidding, pacing, targeting, formats, allocation
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and data science on models that materially move CPA, ROAS, RPM, and net revenue
  • Use AI tooling (Claude Code, Hex, agentic workflows) to diagnose auction dynamics, prototype bid logic, and pressure-test hypotheses in hours instead of weeks

Supply Platform & Partner Integrations

  • Lead product for retailer, platform, and SaaS partner integrations (think Narvar, Gopuff, Mindbody-class partners)
  • Build scalable onboarding and monetization tooling so Disco is the easiest platform on earth to plug into
  • Design partner-facing products that create durable switching costs through data, workflow, and performance

Advertiser & Agency Platform

  • Own advertiser-facing tools: setup, optimization, reporting, experimentation, budget control
  • Support diverse objectives (performance, LTV, acquisition, brand) without bloating the surface area
  • Keep us competitive — and increasingly differentiated — vs. alternative buying channels

AI-Native Product Operating System

  • Treat AI as a teammate, not a feature. Build internal agents, eval loops, and automation that compress our product development cycle
  • Ship AI-powered capabilities inside the product where they create real leverage for advertisers and partners — not as demos
  • Set the bar for how a modern product org operates: prototypes over decks, evals over opinions, ship-and-measure over steering committees

Org Leadership & Strategy

  • Build and manage a senior, AI-native product org — Product, Data, Design, PMM — where individual leverage is 10x what it would be elsewhere
  • Set narrative, strategy, and priorities tied to company outcomes (revenue, margin, platform depth)
  • Establish an operating cadence built around shipping, learning, and compounding

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 10+ years in product, including senior leadership at a marketplace, ad platform, retail media network, or ML-driven optimization business
  • Deep fluency in at least one of: bidding/ranking/allocation systems, yield optimization, two-sided marketplace dynamics, ML product development
  • Track record of shipping products that moved real numbers — not frameworks, not roadmaps, outcomes

AI-Native Operating Style

  • You use Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, Hex, or equivalent tools daily and can point to things you've built with them
  • You can read a model card, write an eval, and have a strong opinion about when an LLM is the right tool and when it's the wrong one
  • You've replaced at least one "hire a team" instinct with "build an agent" and have the scars to prove it
  • You treat AI-generated prototypes as the cheapest form of PRD you can write

Leadership Profile

  • High-agency operator who cuts through complexity and gets to the ship
  • Scrappy > polished. You'd rather have a working prototype by Friday than a perfect deck by Tuesday
  • Strong product intuition, strong commercial instincts, strong opinions held loosely
  • Clear communicator who can align a founder, engineers, and GTM without burning cycles on coordination theater

How You Operate

  • You move fast and ship
  • You prioritize ruthlessly and kill your own work when it stops mattering
  • You design systems that scale — both technical systems and team systems
  • You optimize for outcomes, not activity
  • You care deeply about advertiser, partner, and shopper results — and you can hold all three in your head at once

Who This Role Is Not For

  • People who need a large team to feel productive
  • People whose last hands-on work was five years ago
  • People who think AI is a feature to be managed rather than a medium to build in
  • People who want to run a planning process instead of ship a product

Perks & Benefits

Time to recharge

  • Flexible PTO policy
  • 15 paid company holidays
  • 3 company-wide DisConnect Days to truly unplug

Health & wellbeing

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Monthly flexible lifestyle stipend

Hybrid, based out of our San Francisco or New York City office.
