$25-30/hour based on experience | Full-Time | Sunday–Thursday

Cedar Crest Dairy is looking for a Routing Coordinator to join our Transportation team in Hudsonville, MI.


This is a hands-on transportation role responsible for planning efficient delivery routes, coordinating with drivers, monitoring routes throughout the day, and solving problems as they happen. You'll use routing technology and your knowledge of transportation operations to help keep our drivers moving safely, efficiently and on schedule.


This position works Sunday through Thursday, with Sunday being a half-day. Monday through Thursday are full days, with occasional overtime as needed.

What You'll Do

Plan & Optimize Routes

  • Build and adjust daily delivery routes using Roadnet and other transportation technology
  • Balance delivery windows, driver hours, route efficiency, vehicle capacity and customer needs
  • Review routes and make adjustments to improve efficiency and on-time performance
  • Help plan upcoming routes and prepare for changes in volume, staffing and customer needs

Work With Drivers

  • Assign routes and daily work to drivers
  • Communicate route information, changes and updates throughout the day
  • Monitor driver progress and help resolve delays, route issues or unexpected changes
  • Serve as a go-to resource for drivers when they need help with a route or delivery

Solve Problems

  • Respond quickly to route disruptions, vehicle issues, customer changes and other transportation challenges
  • Work with Transportation, Warehouse and Customer Service teams to keep deliveries moving
  • Identify recurring issues and help develop practical solutions

Monitor Performance

  • Track route and delivery performance, including on-time service, route hours and efficiency
  • Review transportation data and identify opportunities to improve routes and operations
  • Help maintain accurate transportation records and reports

Support Safe & Compliant Operations

  • Help ensure routes and driver schedules comply with DOT requirements and hours-of-service regulations
  • Monitor transportation systems, including ELD and GPS information
  • Support a culture of safe and responsible driving

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, routing, logistics or a related field
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn transportation software quickly
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with drivers and operations teams
  • Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make decisions quickly when plans change
  • Comfortable working with data and using it to identify problems and opportunities

Experience That Will Help You Succeed

  • Previous experience using Roadnet or similar route optimization software
  • 2+ years of experience as a route delivery driver
  • Previous dispatch or fleet coordination experience
  • Experience with Samsara, ELD or GPS systems
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements
  • Experience working in food distribution, transportation or warehouse operations

What the Workday Looks Like

This is primarily an office-based role, but you'll be closely connected to the operation. You'll spend your day communicating with drivers, reviewing routes, watching what's happening in the field and making adjustments when things don't go according to plan.
