Motion Designer

Motion Designers are responsible for creating animations and graphic designs to help inspire curiosity and lower barriers to knowledge building across Complexly’s projects. They work with Associate Producers and/or other key project stakeholders, to understand the factual details of an assignment and to gather key assets and references. As part of the Creative Department,they work with the Art Director to prioritize assignments and ensure deliverables are on-brand. Motion Designers work across a number of projects, so a keen attention to detail is necessary in order to remain organized and ensure deliverables look consistent.

Job Title: Motion Designer

Status: Freelancer

Reports to: Director of Art & Design

Location: Remote, US-Based

Pay: $10,000/video

Term: 2 months

What you'll do: 

● Design accurate, engaging animated compositions

● Create original illustrations for data visualization and other projects as assigned.Work with Director of Art and Design and key project stakeholders to understand the overall style and tone of a project so that

deliverables are on-brand.

● Work with the key project stakeholders to gather important assets

and references so that deliverables are accurate and clear.

● Source or create supplemental assets such as backgrounds, textures, or accent elements to make deliverables more interesting.

● Incorporate feedback from key project stakeholders

● Properly archive and index created materials

● Other duties as assigned

We want to hear from you if you have:

• Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• 2 years of previous animation experience required
• Proficiency with Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop required
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong understanding of color theory and visual storytelling
• Illustration creation and design experience required
