**Location:** Monroe / West Monroe, Louisiana (and surrounding Northeast Louisiana area)

**Employment Type:** Full-time (seasonal opportunities may also be available depending on the employer)

**Reports To:** Operations Manager / Fleet Supervisor / Dispatcher

### Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused CDL Dump Truck Operator to safely transport construction materials (such as asphalt, aggregate, gravel, sand, dirt, demolition debris, and related bulk materials) to and from job sites, quarries, asphalt plants, landfills, and other designated locations in and around Monroe, Louisiana. This role supports local and regional construction, paving, and heavy civil projects. The operator will work primarily within Louisiana (with possible occasional short regional trips) and is expected to maintain a strong safety record, comply with all DOT and company regulations, and deliver materials efficiently while representing the company professionally.

### Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate Class A or Class B dump trucks (including tandem, tri-axle, end-dump, or belly-dump configurations as assigned) on public roads, highways, private job sites, yards, and construction zones.

- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with FMCSA regulations; document findings and promptly report mechanical issues, defects, or safety concerns.

- Load, transport, and unload materials at designated sites; properly secure loads, manage hydraulic dump systems, and ensure safe positioning during dumping operations.

- Plan and follow efficient routes while accounting for traffic, weather, road conditions, weight restrictions, and site access in the Monroe area and surrounding Northeast Louisiana region.

- Maintain accurate daily logs, electronic logging device (ELD) records, delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other required paperwork.

- Communicate regularly with dispatchers, site supervisors, and crew members regarding schedules, delays, site conditions, or issues.

- Perform basic preventative maintenance and keep the truck clean and organized (fueling, checking fluids, cleaning cab and exterior as needed); refer major repairs to maintenance personnel.

- Adhere strictly to Hours of Service (HOS) rules, company safety policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) on job sites and in operational areas.

- Assist with related duties as needed (e.g., minor site support, equipment awareness, or helping other team members) while prioritizing safe vehicle operation.

- Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public.

### Required Qualifications

- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by Louisiana or another state (Class A preferred for combination vehicles or trailer work; Class B typically sufficient for straight dump trucks). Air brake endorsement required for nearly all commercial dump trucks.

- Current, valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical).

- Minimum age of 21 for interstate or unrestricted commercial driving (Louisiana allows CDL at 18 for intrastate-only operations, but most employers prefer or require 21+).

- At least 1 year of recent commercial driving experience (dump truck or similar heavy vehicle experience strongly preferred; some employers accept strong overall CDL experience).

- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR): No serious moving violations or accidents within the last 3–5 years (exact standards vary by employer); no DUI/DWI within the last 7–10 years is a common requirement.

- Must be registered in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and able to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.

- High school diploma or GED preferred.

- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand regulations, complete paperwork, and communicate effectively.

- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions common to Northeast Louisiana (heat, humidity, rain, occasional cold).

- Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to work early mornings, overtime, weekends, or occasional nights as project demands require.

- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb in/out of the cab, perform inspections, and handle light physical tasks (lifting up to approximately 50 lbs occasionally).

### Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience hauling asphalt, aggregate, or construction materials in dump trucks.

- Experience operating in construction or paving environments.

- Additional endorsements (e.g., Tanker/N if liquid loads are involved) or relevant safety training.

- Familiarity with the Monroe, LA road network, local construction practices, and Louisiana weight/bridge laws.

- Strong safety record and defensive driving mindset.

### Working Conditions

- Primarily outdoor work involving driving and job-site exposure; subject to Louisiana weather, dust, noise, and active construction environments.

- Physical demands include prolonged sitting/driving, climbing, bending, and occasional lifting.

- Schedule is typically full-time with potential for overtime during peak construction seasons; many local roles allow drivers to be home most nights.

- Strict adherence to safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company policies is mandatory.

### Compensation & Benefits (Typical Range – Varies by Employer)

Compensation in the Monroe area commonly falls in the range of approximately $19–$25+ per hour or equivalent weekly earnings depending on experience, overtime, and the specific company (some roles advertise weekly rates or include production incentives). Benefits packages often include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with possible match; paid time off or holidays; and other standard offerings. Exact pay and benefits depend on the hiring company.

### Additional Notes

This position is safety-sensitive and subject to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Successful candidates must pass background checks, drug screening, and MVR reviews. Equal Opportunity Employer principles apply; reasonable accommodations may be available for qualified individuals with disabilities.

This description reflects standard requirements and responsibilities drawn from typical CDL dump truck roles in construction and materials hauling, with adjustments for Louisiana CDL rules and local Monroe-area job postings (which frequently emphasize Class A or B CDL, 1+ years of experience, clean driving records, and asphalt/construction material transport).
