Executive Protection Agent – Part-Time / As Needed | Northern California

OVERVIEW

Cooke & Associates, Inc. (CAI) is seeking experienced, operationally focused Executive Protection Agents to support part-time, as-needed protective operations throughout Northern California. This role is designed for protection professionals capable of operating in dynamic, real-world environments while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and strict adherence to protocols.

Agents will support executive protection assignments across corporate, residential, and public-facing environments and must be able to operate independently or as part of an embedded team. This position requires sound judgment, situational awareness, and the ability to respond appropriately to evolving conditions.

POSITION DETAILS

Location:

This is an onsite, field-based role operating throughout Northern California. Candidates must already reside locally. No relocation assistance or travel-in arrangements are available.

Schedule:

Variable shifts based on assignment needs. Work may include days, swings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This is an as-needed role with no guaranteed hours.

Duration:

Part-time, project-based, as-needed. Assignments vary in duration and frequency based on client demand and operational requirements.

Attire:

Plain-clothes, professional appearance appropriate to corporate, residential, or public-facing environments.

Role Type:

Armed, concealed carry, plain-clothes executive protection.

Compensation:

$50.00 to $55.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Overtime eligible in accordance with California state and federal labor laws.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Protection Agent provides armed, concealed carry protective services for designated principals and locations. Responsibilities include close protection, presence-based deterrence, secure movement, and response to security incidents in accordance with established post orders.

This position operates within established client protocols and CAI policies and does not function as law enforcement. All actions must align with site-specific post orders, use-of-force guidelines, and escalation procedures. The role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in varied environments while maintaining defined authority boundaries.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide armed, concealed carry executive protection in plain-clothes environments
  • Maintain a professional, low-profile protective presence appropriate to the assignment
  • Conduct advance planning, route assessments, and site walkthroughs as required
  • Support secure movement, transitions, and transportation activities
  • Respond to security incidents or emergent situations in accordance with training and post orders
  • Maintain situational awareness and proactively identify risks or vulnerabilities
  • Coordinate with other agents, site security personnel, and client stakeholders as directed
  • Submit accurate activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all CAI policies, client requirements, and licensing standards
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • Minimum of two (2) years of executive protection experience
  • Valid and current California BSIS Guard Card
  • Valid and current California BSIS Firearm Permit
  • Valid and current California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit
  • HR218 credentials are not accepted
  • Ability to lawfully carry a concealed firearm while on duty
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment and ongoing background investigations
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment and ongoing drug screening
  • Strong judgment, situational awareness, and decision-making ability
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team
  • Must maintain all required licenses, permits, and credentials in active status throughout employment

PREFERRED

  • Prior law enforcement or military experience
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or ability to successfully complete certification within the first 90 days
  • Experience supporting corporate, residential, or public-facing executive protection assignments
TECHNOLOGY & REPORTING EXPECTATIONS
  • Proficiency with smartphones and secure communication tools
  • Ability to complete electronic reports and written documentation accurately and on time
  • Ability to operate within CAI and client reporting, communication, and incident management systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Conduct foot patrols and respond rapidly to incidents
  • Run short distances when required
  • Lift and carry equipment necessary for the role
  • Ability to safely and responsibly carry and deploy authorized equipment consistent with training and policy

It requires active engagement, readiness to respond to dynamic situations, and consistent professionalism. It is also not appropriate for candidates unwilling to maintain required licensing, operate within clearly defined authority limits, or adhere strictly to post orders, use-of-force guidelines, and reporting requirements.
