Democratic National Committee

Analytics Engineer

About Democratic National Committee

We’re hiring! Are you fired up to elect Democrats up and down the ticket?

Position Summary:

The Democratic National Committee’s Tech team is hiring an Analytics Engineer to clean, repackage, and build data pipelines to help Democrats win elections and empower progressives across the country. In the lead up to the midterms we need Analytics Engineers to help us maintain the technological infrastructure and data pipelines needed by candidates.  In this role, you’ll report to our Analytics Engineering Lead and partner with a Product Manager and data team peers.

This role is a remote role, on a remote-first team.

Who we are:

  • The Tech team is a small, diverse team that develops and supports technology used by candidates and organizers across the United States to analyze data, organize campaigns, raise money, and get out the vote on election day.  You can read more about us on our blog on Medium.
  • We’re a team that values clarity over polish, curiosity over ego, and sustainability over burnout. We believe good ideas can come from anywhere, that accountability and empathy can coexist, and that work should feel meaningful without consuming your whole life. Our team values progress over perfection, and we are unafraid to chart a path forward, even in the face of ambiguity.
  • If you’re looking for a place where you can challenge assumptions, grow your skills, support your teammates, and help build tools that move the needle in real-world organizing, we’d love to hear from you.
  • We value diversity in perspective, lived experience, and the many paths one may take towards becoming an Analytics Engineer. To that end, even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description, we still encourage you to apply.

Do you want to…

  • Secure the future of our country? A lot is at stake and our team has a huge opportunity to make a real difference.  This is high-impact, mission-centered work: ideal for someone who’s energized by progressive tech and wants to build systems that make a difference.
  • Work with amazing people? We have built a diverse, distributed team, hiring the best people we can wherever they are—alumni from past Presidential campaigns, experienced product developers, e-commerce veterans, and more.
  • Never stop learning? We are blazing a lot of new trails and you should be comfortable exploring and learning from everyone you can.

You Will…(Job Responsibilities)

  • Support pipelines and products that contribute directly to the 2026 midterms, including maintaining and validating early vote and vendor data pipelines
  • Maintain core data products that make raw, messy data usable at scale. We build the ETL infrastructure that makes complex multi-sourced data accessible, accurate, and actionable. We take a user-centric approach to our work and support a portfolio of products that meet the needs of organizers, analysts, and strategists alike. Whether it’s integrating new Census data for our data science team, building innovative voter contact data models for campaigns, or building insightful analytics products for decision-makers, our work is what turns raw data into a strategic advantage.
  • Improve and maintain data observability, leveraging data contracts, SLAs, and automated tests to ensure reliability at scale. When our campaigns are building movements to win highly consequential elections, reliability can’t be an afterthought.
  • The work you do here won’t sit on a shelf. The pipelines you build and the datasets you shape will directly support decisions on the ground, like who to contact, where to invest limited resources, and how to measure our progress. In a cycle where every day counts, your contributions will help turn good strategy into meaningful victories.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission.

Tech we work with often includes…

  • DBT
  • SQL
  • Google BigQuery and the related GCP ecosystem
  • Python
  • Docker
  • Infrastructure-as-code, including Hashicorp Terraform and Pulumi.
  • LLMs, including Gemini and Claude

Requirements (Qualifications)…

  • You write clean, well-organized SQL and know how to structure reusable data pipelines.
  • You’ve worked with large, complex datasets—especially those that weren’t tidy to begin with.
  • You enjoy building things with others, not just for them, and believe the best products come from thoughtful partnerships.
  • You’ve used tools like DBT or Airflow to build and maintain production workflows. These could include tools like Dagster, Databricks, AWS Glue, or Dataform.
  • You’re pragmatic and adaptable, able to make progress even when the underlying data is imperfect.
  • You’re comfortable with the Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and GCS.
  • You can explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-technical collaborators.
  • You’ve worked in fast-paced environments where priorities shift quickly.
  • You’re the kind of person who can spot a gap, isn’t afraid to propose a solution, and enjoys rolling up your sleeves.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience.

Salary: The salary for the Analytics Engineering position is a firm $95,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends. This is a cycle-based position with an end date of November 15, 2026.
