Your role as Senior Software Developer, Frontend

Reporting to Pierre-Luc Turgeon, Director of Engineering for the Member Experience team at Dialogue, your mission will be to create magical experiences for millions of Canadians using the Dialogue web and mobile applications and to ensure they receive the care they need. The Senior Software Developer, Frontend will be a thought leader in how we develop and architect React applications at Dialogue and work in a collegiate environment of passionate professionals to build a five-star member experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the development of new features for our web (and mobile) apps, ensuring a seamless and high-quality user experience.
  • Having a big impact on the business by driving key frontend initiatives from conception to launch.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for frontend development, contributing to the technical direction and best practices for the team.
  • Steering the frontend development process by identifying opportunities to improve our architecture and implementing more efficient processes.
  • Contributing to define plans to manage and reduce technical debt and part take to its implementation.
  • Participating in and contributing to all agile ceremonies, team meetings, and broader technology department activities.
  • Collaborating with the wider development community to stay current with industry trends and implement them in our context.
  • Working with an application used by millions of Canadians, directly influencing and improving their health and well-being.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with an excellent understanding of frontend best practices.
  • Strong experience with React building and maintaining production web applications.
  • Solid grasp of modern web fundamentals: TypeScript, HTML/CSS, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with React Native and/or Expo, or building applications for iOS and Android (nice to have).
  • A demonstrated presence in the React community or contributions to the ecosystem.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • The capacity to work independently and drive initiatives without direct mentorship.
  • An interest or experience in working on back-end development is a plus.
