  • Provide customer-requested changes, updates, and enhancements to existing databases and application files.
  • Support Service Teams with issues on existing sites and older projects, including technical investigation and resolution recommendations.

Technical Leadership & Quality Review

  • Review standards across portfolios and help ensure consistent, high-quality output across assigned work.
  • Attend and provide technical input as needed in customer-facing meetings.
  • Support, coach, and guide Applications Engineers and Associate Application Engineers on technical tasks, documentation, and project workflows.
  • Shadow and collaborate with the Lead Applications Engineer to learn direction, workflow management, and leadership practices.

Project Execution & Department Support

  • Debug installation issues during static and dynamic start-up and commissioning of building controls and special systems.
  • Provide input to sales staff as requested or required to assist in accurate estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building systems.
  • Communicate technical risks, missing information, status updates, and required decisions to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, revisions, database support materials, and technical notes throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC, building automation systems (BAS), DDC/BMS controls, and related control sequences.
  • Ability to read and interpret project specifications, sequences of operation, drawings, equipment submittals, and controls documentation.
  • Familiarity with BACnet and Modbus communication protocols and BAS network concepts.
  • Clear understanding of computer and BAS networks, including device addressing, connectivity, and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining a high degree of integrity and accountability.
  • Experience with Delta Controls preferred; experience with Reliable Controls, KMC, Siemens, or similar product lines is a plus.
  • Experience with EPMS integration, MSA FieldServer Protonode, Python, JavaScript, or other line-based coding is a plus.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience programming BAS/DDC systems and integrating with third-party equipment preferred.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with BAS networks, BACnet, Modbus, gateway configuration, commercial HVAC systems, and commissioning support preferred.
  • Experience with mission-critical sites, data center environments, EPMS integration, Delta Controls, Reliable Controls, KMC, Siemens, or similar product lines strongly preferred.
