Vendor Relations Specialist - Waste

Your next adventure starts at Encamp.

Encamp is on a mission to create a world where good for business is good for the environment. And we’re doing it with a modern first-of-its-kind SaaS platform for environmental compliance.

Built by our own EHS professionals, the Encamp platform makes environmental compliance and reporting faster, easier, and more accurate by eliminating data silos and arduous technology implementations and adoption life cycles. Today, over 300 enterprise organizations trust Encamp to safeguard 40,000+ facilities. We’re an expanding team of remote-happy Encampers, with roots in Indianapolis but quickly expanding throughout the U.S.

As a part of the Encamp team, you’ll tackle challenges of scale and complexity as we develop our product at a fast pace and continue to create the future of EHS technology. Encampers choose us and grow with us thanks to a company culture that supports ownership, optimizes action, and surrounds you with intelligent and supportive colleagues to continually maximize learning.

About the role:

Encamp’s waste reporting depends on receiving complete, on-time data from a large network of third-party waste vendors and haulers every single month. Getting that data in the door is one of the biggest factors in how fast we can implement and deliver compliance outcomes for our customers.

This role owns those relationships. You’ll be the point of contact our vendors know by name – the person who calls before the deadline rather than chasing after it, who knows which haulers are reliable and which ones need a nudge on the 3rd outreach attempt, and who turns those relationships into business growth opportunities. It’s a relationship-driven role where you’ll start with email outreach and pick up the phone to drive results when needed, and you’ll be backed by our data and waste teams on anything technical.

The ideal candidate is:

A persistent, personable relationship-builder who is energized by picking up the phone and genuinely enjoys building meaningful connections to drive operational outcomes on a deadline. You’re organized enough to hold a large book of contacts through a recurring monthly cycle, and you’re comfortable leveraging AI tools and a modern tech stack to work smarter and move faster. You enjoy closing loops, building business relationships, and hitting deadlines.

As a Vendor Relationship Specialist you will:

  • Serve as the named relationship owner for Encamp’s network of waste data vendors and haulers
  • Drive monthly data delivery through proactive, email-first outreach ahead of deadlines, following up with phone calls to gain traction when needed
  • Escalate and problem-solve when data arrives late, incomplete, or in the wrong format, partnering with our data team on what “good” looks like
  • Build and maintain accurate vendor records in Salesforce, including contacts, coverage, delivery history, and call notes
  • Track and report monthly vendor delivery performance so the business has a clear picture of vendor health
  • Establish and document a repeatable outreach cadence and escalation path that the team can rely on
  • Identify and onboard new waste vendors and haulers as customer needs expand
  • Develop referral and partnership opportunities out of existing vendor relationships
  • Be the voice of the vendor network internally, feeding market intelligence back to the data, product, and customer success teams
  • Upload data through our system and complete a basic quality check

We’re definitely looking for you if:

  • You have 1–3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, inside sales, account coordination, vendor management, or customer support role
  • You are comfortable with a mix of email and phone outreach – you prioritize building relationships through written communication and are ready to pick up the phone to follow up without being asked when traction is needed
  • You’re proactive in managing relationships with stakeholders
  • You can nudge a vendor for the fourth time and still be someone they want to hear from
  • You’re organized and self-directed, able to hold a large book of contacts and run a recurring monthly cycle without being managed to it
  • You have a habit of logging every touch in a CRM; Salesforce experience is a plus
  • You’re curious about AI tools and open to experimenting with them to work smarter — no prior experience needed, just a willingness to learn
  • You have experience in waste, logistics, environmental services, or another vendor-heavy industry is a strong plus but not required
  • You must be proactive, organized, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment

Perks of being a happy Encamper:

  • Competitive salary and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, and responsible Paid Time Off
  • A flexible, remote-first culture with an allowance to support your remote work setup
  • A high-end laptop
  • Share in our success - you’ll have a significant personal impact on the team and the ability to earn equity
  • Parental leave - we know how important it is to spend time with your new family!
  • Sustainable 1:1s, focused on not only your growth as an employee, but in your career
  • Get together at in-person Encamp Summits to share our wins and build community
  • Work with a brilliant team of people that share your values and passion
