About Frogslayer
Frogslayer is the AI & Automation integrator for the middle market. We're a custom software and AI partner that rescues stalled projects, modernizes legacy systems, and designs, builds, and scales the software and AI solutions our clients' businesses depend on. Through our AI Office model, we embed senior strategists and engineers directly inside our clients' businesses — every month — to help them figure out what to build, what to buy, what to ignore, and then actually ship it. We work inside their environment, not around it.
Roughly 80% of AI projects never reach production. We exist to put our clients on the right side of that number. Our projects succeed at roughly 3X the industry average, and that comes from putting senior people in front of clients, not from cutting corners.
Frogslayer aims to be a top-tier "talent destination" for exceptional individuals who want to grow their careers long-term. Our people are committed, hard-working, and genuinely care about the well-being of each other and Frogslayer. We have been continually recognized for the past 7 years by Inc. and Texas Monthly as one of the "best places to work" in Texas and the US.
Frogslayer is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome and encourage diversity in the workplace. We offer a generous benefits package, including company contributions to medical benefits for full-time employees and their families. In addition, we offer a flexible work environment, company-sponsored activities, and a commitment to providing each employee with job satisfaction and growth opportunities based on each person's needs and goals.
Who You Are
You're a senior engineer who is just as comfortable in a conference room as you are in a codebase. You can sit across from a CEO, COO, or CFO, understand their business, and translate a vague "we should do something with AI" into a concrete, sequenced plan that creates measurable value — and then go build it.
You have a strong technical foundation: a history of shipping real software (frontend, backend, or full stack) using databases, message queues, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. You've also leaned hard into modern AI tooling — you use LLMs and agentic coding tools daily to compress what used to take weeks into days, and you can tell the difference between a flashy demo and something that will actually hold up in production.
You can read a room and a requirements doc with equal skill. You explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical executives without condescension, and you're energized — not drained — by client interaction. You can operate autonomously, drive ambiguous work to a decision, and you can also slot cleanly into a sprint team on a long-lived project and follow its rhythms.
You have a powerful desire to learn and a low tolerance for hype. You're available to support production environments when they have issues, even at odd hours if necessary.
The Role
This is a dual-mode role, and that's the point. On any given week you might be:
We're technology-agnostic and outcome-obsessed. For each engagement we pick the best tools for the job, and we expect you to do the same — including knowing when not to use AI. Your clients will rely on you to solve their most complex challenges and deliver results they can point to.
What You'll Do
Consult & advise (client-facing)
Build fast with AI
Enable & teach
Deliver on traditional & legacy projects
Lead & mentor
