GeBBS is looking for Multi-Specialty Pro-Fee Medical Coder (OBGYN & Urology) coder for part time 10 minimum hours per week (more may be given (15-20 potentially) if you have experience in other specialties - but must have primary care experience if you want more hours ) . This position requires strong multi-specialty coding expertise. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of coding experience, with consistent and current coding work in the following specialties. We are specifically looking for coders who are actively and regularly these specialties, not individuals who may have coded them in the past but have not worked in that specialty recently.

The applicant must have experience in both OBGYN and Urology coding. If they are interested in working more than 10 hours per week, they will also need Primary Care coding experience.


OBGYN/Wellness Visits for one provider = 5 hours a week

Urology visits and procedures = 5 hours a week

Primary Care visits = 5-10 hours a week (if they want more than 10 hours)


EPIC and PatientKeeper experience is preferred. They do need to be familiar with billing and coding edits and denials even if it isn’t in EPIC.

  1. Medical Coding from documentation: Reads the documentation and applies the appropriate CPT, modifiers, ICD-10 codes, etc.
  2. Charge Review WQ’s: this entails reviewing the providers submitted coding in EPIC against the documentation and working any EPIC edits and then recommending coding changes back to the departments to make the corrections.
  3. Claim Edit WQ’s: this entails reviewing the providers submitted coding in EPIC against the documentation and working Clearing House rejections/edits and then recommending coding changes back to the departments to make the corrections.
  4. Follow-Up WQ’s: this entails reviewing the providers submitted coding in EPIC against post bill denials/edits and then recommending coding changes back to the departments to make the corrections.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years' experience with current ProFee hospital coding
  • IP and OP (POS 21, 22, 11) experience
  • Current CPC or equivalent through the AAPC or AHIMA
  • Ability to code accurately and maintain a quality score of 95% or greater
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Patient Keeper experience preferred
  • Experience with Medicaid of California guidelines strongly preferred
  • Applicants must pass a ProFee coding assessment(s)
  • Comfortable working with technology to accomplish position responsibilities (MS Office, Teams, VPN)

·        Minimum of three years’ experience

·        Visits (POS 11, 21, 22)

·        Nephrostomy

·        Cystometrogram

·        EMG

·        Proctectomy

·        Urethrorrhaphy

·        Repairs

Biopsies
