Glass Roots Construction, LLC

Revenue Accountant

Who We Are

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is a first-class fiber optic utility construction firm founded by career telecom and construction professionals. We leverage the latest technologies and up-to-date construction practices to design and build high-performance networks that deliver fast, reliable connectivity for businesses, schools, and healthcare.

At GRC, we believe that great infrastructure is built on two foundational commitments:

  • Safety First: This is our #1 priority and a mutual commitment. We protect our team members, the public, and our customers' assets by prioritizing safety over production and ensuring every project is executed without shortcuts so everyone goes home safe.
  • Quality & Excellence: We commit to excellence in every detail. By investing in our people, best-in-industry equipment, and processes, we deliver reliable, lasting work and exceptional, professional service for our customers.

We are looking for people who take pride in their trade and want to help us lay the foundation for a safer, more connected future.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly structured Revenue Accountant to join our expanding corporate finance team. In this role, you will hold primary ownership over the end-to-end revenue lifecycle, moving projects smoothly from contractual setup to cash collection. You will collaborate directly with Project Managers, Business Development, and our parent organization to validate contract values, execute billing metrics, and establish systematic revenue controls.

If you are a builder at heart who enjoys root-cause analysis, pressure-testing integration data, and bringing absolute precision to complex corporate financials, this role is for you

Responsibilities

  • Billing & Invoicing Architecture: Own the full billing lifecycle, ensuring all customer invoices are precisely formatted and generated out of NetSuite and Zoho Finance modules in compliance with explicit project terms (including retention billing and unique market thresholds).
  • Contract & SOW Cleansing: Audit in-flight Statement of Work (SOW) documents, purchase orders, and contractual terms upstream to reconcile project margins, confirm project definitions, and match active cost numbers accurately to reporting structures.
  • Reverse Billing Administration: Oversee the subcontractor reverse billing lifecycle. Cross-verify physical production and segment footages validated by the field QA/QC team against billing applications before routing for manager approvals.
  • Data Integrity & Systems Reconciliation: Pressure-test and trace downstream entries across integrated business platforms (NetSuite, Zoho, and custom portal reporting datasets) to catch and fix line duplications or systematic integration discrepancies.
  • Lien Waiver & Compliance Tracking: Manage mandatory compliance documentation for large-scale construction milestones, tracking progress billings, conditional/unconditional lien waiver verification, and the systematic true-up of calculated cash retention roll-offs.
  • Cash Flow Management: drive positive cash flow by collaborating with customers to ensure invoicing, collections and payment applications are timely and accurate.
  • Variance Commentary Support: Assist in building financial narrative components for monthly executive management packs, comparing revenue realization pipelines against forecasted project benchmarks.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a highly analytical business discipline.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of corporate accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on revenue recognition, billing workflows, or project costing. Prior exposure to the construction, engineering, telecommunications, or defense contracting industries is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Professional, hands-on experience navigating comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) landscapes (e.g., NetSuite, Ramp, or enterprise Zoho suites) is required. Advanced proficiency with Excel (complex nested lookups, index-matching, and conditional filtering structures) is a must.
  • Analytical Rigor: A natural orientation toward root-cause analysis. You don't just fix an error on a report; you seek out the backend systemic cause to prevent it from repeating.
  • Strategic Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable partnering directly with diverse internal and external stakeholders, from operators out in the field to C-suite executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within the construction or telecommunications industry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a remote or hybrid team.
