Senior Product Marketing Manager
Role Description
We’re hiring our first dedicated Product Marketer to help us sharpen how we go to market across the companies driving the U.S. energy buildout — data center developers, hyperscalers, EPCs, and capital allocators.
This is a foundational, highly cross-functional role. You’ll work with nearly every team at Halcyon (product, engineering, data, sales, customer success, and marketing), and understanding how to navigate these orgs will be as important as the work you produce. Speaking of producing work: you’ll write the pitch, build the enablement, and join customer calls yourself.
We’re at the moment where a set of strong products becomes one platform. Your two top priorities: lead the move to a platform sale, and own sales and customer enablement, including carrying each launch from dev complete to revenue. We want someone who has done this before, and has the portfolio to prove it.
Key Responsibilities
Positioning & messaging
- Own Halcyon’s product positioning and messaging across the full platform.
- Turn complex energy/regulatory workflows into clear, differentiated narratives that resonate with distinct personas.
- Build the “why us” story versus both tech/data competitors and service-led incumbents.
GTM strategy, packaging & pricing
- Lead packaging and bundling strategy across products (and how that maps to segments and use cases).
- Partner with leadership on pricing — providing input on value metrics, tiers, and willingness-to-pay signals (you won’t be doing this alone, but you will shape it).
- Lead the move from selling individual products to selling the platform: messaging, packaging, pricing input, and ICP prioritization.
- Translate market signal into practical GTM choices: ICP clarity, use-case focus, and channel strategy.
Launches & enablement
- Own GTM for new products and features from dev complete through launch: messaging, launch assets, internal readiness, and measurement.
- Create sales-ready assets: pitch decks, one-pagers, demo narratives, email sequences, battlecards, ROI stories, and customer proof points.
- Build a repeatable system for launching multiple products (not one-off announcements).
Customer and competitive insight
- Partner with product to run structured customer discovery (win/loss, pipeline interviews, churn/expansion signals) and translate insights into action.
- Track competitive landscape and positioning across newer AI-native tech/data comps and more traditional service-led incumbent
What Success Looks Like
- Clear, energy-native positioning: who Halcyon is for, the jobs we solve, and why we win.
- A coherent packaging framework across the platform that customers understand and sales can sell.
- Stronger GTM focus: clearer ICP and segment prioritization informed by market signal.
- A repeatable launch + enablement engine that scales as the product suite expands.
- A sales team selling the full platform, with the enablement to do it well.
Qualifications
Required
- 5–8+ years in product marketing, GTM strategy, product strategy, energy research/insight, or a closely related role.
- Deep familiarity with energy workflows, including:
- How stakeholders use regulatory data and proceedings (e.g., rate cases, IRPs, CPCNs, RFPs, resource adequacy, emissions compliance, etc) to inform market evaluation and commercial growth opportunities
- How IPPS, developers of power and powered resources use data platforms to automate workflows
- How finance professionals and capital allocators use intelligence software to power investment decisions
- Proven ability to create crisp messaging from ambiguity and get cross-functional adoption.
- Strong writing and storytelling instincts—clear, precise, and customer-native.
Strongly preferred
- Experience taking a company from selling individual products to selling a platform.
- Experience marketing data platforms or intelligence software.
- Track record working across enterprise motions (or bridging product + sales in a scaling company).
- “Technical enough” to partner effectively with engineers and product—comfort with concepts like data coverage, provenance, update cadence, entity resolution, and alerting/agentic workflows.
How we work
- High ownership, low ego, direct access to product and leadership.
- You’ll be PMM #1, joining an existing marketing team, with the chance to define the function and build the playbook.
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000 - $170,000 base, dependent on level of experience. Role also offers equity, full healthcare, 401(k), and unlimited PTO. Company is fully remote, with an office in San Francisco.
About Halcyon
Halcyon is the leading energy market intelligence platform. We encode deep energy domain expertise into sophisticated software systems so energy professionals can find, analyze, and act on regulatory and market information faster.
As U.S. energy development accelerates, the volume and velocity of energy information is exploding. Extracting complex energy data from regulatory filings has always been painful, and legacy service solutions are slow and expensive. In this high-stakes, rapidly evolving landscape, energy professionals need purpose-built technology to gain an edge.
We’ve built a platform that uses AI to identify, organize and extract relevant information from all 50 state public utility commissions (PUCs), grid operators (ISOs/RTOs) and FERC. Data center developers, hyperscalers, EPCs, IPPs, utilities and capital allocators use Halcyon to find valuable new sources, understand shifting market dynamics, and answer complex questions quickly.
Customers come to Halcyon with concrete questions. Where is my company mentioned in a filing? Which territories have favorable rules? Which projects are moving through permitting, not just sitting in the queue? When does the proceeding I care about open? We’re moving from answering those questions on demand to answering them continuously, with customizable scaled analysis that keeps data fresh and sophisticated workflows that pipe it into the systems customers already run.
