About Havenly

At Havenly Brands, we're building this generation's premier destination for all things home. Alongside our award winning Havenly design services, we proudly own and operate some of the best home furnishings brands in the business including Havenly, Interior Define, The Citizenry, Burrow, Inside, and St. Frank. Our family of brands is growing and we're looking for amazing people to join us on this journey!

Havenly is not just the #1 residential interior design service in America - we're architecting the future of how millions design their homes. With our proprietary 3D visualization technology, our worldwide network of designers empowered with AI tools, and our revolutionary customer-facing AI design assistant, we're at the inflection point of a massive market transformation. This isn't just another operations role, it's the opportunity to build the category-defining business at the intersection of AI, design, and commerce.

Our Core Values

  • Exhibit Gumption: meet every challenge with spirit and energy; believe the impossible is possible.
  • Overperform: work hard, move fast, be scrappy.
  • Stay Playful: no jerks, no whiners; have fun and keep perspective.
  • Act Like an Owner: be accountable, speak up, act in Havenly's best interest.

About the Role

This is a true product ownership role for someone with a shopkeeper mentality. As Senior Merchant, you'll own the assortment across at least two of our brands, setting merchandising direction, writing the briefs that guide design, actively managing your brands and categories to drive revenue, and bringing those learnings back into the next cycle.

You sit at the center of the product process: close partnership with leadership, brand, design, planning, marketing, and digital, and real authority to shape what we make. You'll report to the Chief Merchandising Officer and may manage a small team.

What You'll Own

Brand & Product Concepting, Line Planning

  • Work with leadership to develop a shared understanding for the vision for your brands on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Develop a point of view on home trends in the market, and concept entire product segments to drive revenue and storytelling for each of your brands
  • Work with the design team to bring concepts to life, including running with product plans, and overall look and feel
  • Partner with leadership to build the line plan for your categories — style count, category mix, price architecture, and newness strategy each season
  • Own the partnership with digital and marketing for each brand, ensuring that the site merchandising, imagery and marketing is reflective of the needs for each new product
  • Own the commercial logic of your assortment from concept through final line adoption
  • Partner with planning on margin mix, OTB, and size/color split recommendations before briefs are written

In-season management

  • Monitor revenue performance for your brands, and understand what categories and products are driving the business, and which are at the end of their cycle
  • Monitor sell-through, reviews, and returns weekly — react to what the data tells you and take action
  • Chase winners by recommending reorders before you're out of stock; flag underperformers early and recommend markdowns or promotional support before inventory becomes a problem
  • Partner with digital to make sure your categories are merchandised correctly on-site, including product sequencing, category pages, and content should reflect what's actually selling
  • Work with marketing/paid media to recommend actions that support what's working

Post-season & market intelligence

  • Own the hindsight process for your brands, what worked, what didn't, and why, by style, category, color, and price point
  • Be in the market constantly: shop competitors, track trend, monitor pricing, and bring an outside perspective into every brief
  • Own the accuracy of your line plan, ensure that it’s kept current and reflective of real market intelligence throughout the season

Cross-functional leadership & data ownership

  • Work hand-in-hand with design throughout the creative process, you're a creative partner, not just a commercial gatekeeper
  • Hold your categories to the agreed line plan; be a collaborative but accountable partner across functions
  • Actively use and monitor AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and brief writing, we expect this to be part of how you work

We Are Looking for People Who Have

  • 6–10 years in product development, merchandising, or buying at a DTC or omnichannel brand, ideally home, furniture, or apparel
  • Demonstrated experience owning (not assisting) a product brief process end to end
  • Experience managing at least one direct report
  • A powerhouse with data, with a high command of how to use it to inform strategy.  You use sell-through, return rate, and market analysis to sharpen your point of view, and can see through AI slop easily
  • A strong cross-functional partner: collaborative in process, decisive in output
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and the chaos of a lean, fast-moving team
  • Willingness to travel for market weeks, trade shows, competitive shopping, and vendor visits

What this is not: this role isn't for someone coming primarily from a wholesale buying or retail planning background, we need someone who thinks product-first.

At Havenly, we're building with AI as part of how we work. We're looking for people who are genuinely curious about AI-assisted tools and eager to adopt them; this is about openness and aptitude, not existing expertise.
