Performance Manager (Automotive, aka Marketing Strategist)

Job Overview:
The Performance Manager is responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining campaign strategy, marketing mix (e.g. channels, tactics, budgets, audiences, messaging), and overall account performance across iFrog partners.  In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including, but not limited to Accounts, Search, SEO, Media, and Design—to drive results, as well as, formally meet with partners monthly to provide performance reviews.


Essential Functions:

  1. Omnichannel Strategy Development Across Multiple Partners: Architecting integrated marketing roadmaps that align with partner business objectives, identifying the ideal "marketing mix" across (e.g. SEO, SEM, Paid Social, Email, and Content).
  2. Budget Allocation & Forecasting: Analyzing historical data and market trends to recommend optimal budget distribution across channels to maximize Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
  3. Audience & Market Research: Conducting deep-dive research into buyer personas, competitor landscapes, and industry trends to ensure messaging and targeting are laser-focused.
  4. Campaign Performance Analysis: Aggregating data from various platforms (Google Analytics, CRM, Ad Managers) to provide a holistic view of campaign health, moving beyond surface-level metrics to find true business impact.
  5. Continuous Optimization: Proactively identifying "friction points" in the marketing funnel and recommending A/B tests, landing page tweaks, or creative pivots to improve conversion rates.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Acting as the bridge between Account Management, Creative, and Technical teams to ensure that the "big picture" strategy is executed accurately and that downstream impacts are managed.
  7. Partner Reporting & Consultation: Translating complex data sets into "human" insights for clients, explaining not just what happened, but why it happened and what the next strategic move should be.
  8. Strategic Troubleshooting: Serving as the lead "problem solver" when a campaign underperforms, diagnosing whether the issue lies in the audience targeting, the creative, the landing page, or the technical setup.
  9. If local to Easton, Maryland, the ability to work on a hybrid 3+2 office/work-from-home model (5 days at the office for the initial 90 days).
  10. All other duties as assigned by iFrog Leadership.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Investigation and troubleshooting, when necessary
  2. Monitor industry statistics and follow trends established by industry leaders.
  3. Develop and share best practices with Performance Department members to continually improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our processes.
  4. Data pulling and review of CRM and/or DMS.

Required Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.
  2. 3+ years marketing agency experience.
  3. Working knowledge of the automotive industry.
  4. Ability to create comprehensive marketing strategy, execute, and optimize it.
  5. Ability to review, synthesize, and provide actionable insights on marketing performance.
  6. Working knowledge of marketing strategies, metrics, analyses, and interpretations.
  7. Proficient in Google Analytics and/or Google Ads and/or other ad platforms
  8. Recent Google Analytics certification(s).
  9. Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  10. Comfortable presenting and talking to management.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  1. Automotive Products such as (e.g. Facebook AIA, Google VLAs)
  2. Experience in project management.
  3. Working knowledge of dealer specific CRM and/or DMS
