Your Mission:

Your mission is to build and lead the HR Business Partner function as Inspiration scales, establishing HR capabilities across compliance, employee relations, and manager coaching. You will own the programs, systems, and team that lets employees do their best work, while advising the Executive Team on how our People strategy supports the business as we grow.

You will report to: SVP Operations


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Talent Director to develop and execute job architecture and comp strategy that attracts and retains great talent
  • Own the employee benefits strategy: managing renewals, plan design, and broker relationships
  • Experience with Rippling or similar HRIS as our system of record for people data and reporting
  • Coach managers and leaders through performance management, difficult conversations, and people decisions
  • Ensure HR compliance across all states where we operate, flagging and mitigating legal risk
  • Proactively identify and support team members navigating AI-driven organizational change, including managing adaptation challenges and related retention risks
  • Lead people strategy and culture across a fast-growing and evolving hybrid/distributed organization structure, including potential future office expansion

Who You Are:

  • You have 11+ years of progressive HR experience across the full employee lifecycle
  • You have a background in compensation strategy and benchmarking (e.g., using Mercer or similar survey data) and job architecture
  • You have managed and developed HR staff
  • You have owned employee benefits programs, including broker relationships and plan design
  • You are skilled at employee relations, performance management, and coaching people leaders through difficult conversations
  • You have a strong working knowledge of employment law and multi-state HR compliance
  • You hold or are working toward an SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification
  • You have experience managing people and culture across hybrid or distributed teams
  • You have been exposed to organizational complexity (multi-business units, varying organizational levels) and/or M&A transitions

Salary: $155,000 - 165,000 annually


Location: Washington, D.C. Our in-office team works from our Dupont Circle office Tuesday through Thursday. Remote work on Mondays and Fridays is voluntary, and employees are welcome to work from the office if they’d prefer.
