Join the Mission to Make Water Better

Senior IT Project Manager – Enterprise Implementations

About Klir

For too long, utilities have had to manage water through fragmented systems, siloed data, and workflows held together by institutional memory. As costs rise, teams shrink, and operational decisions demand real-time clarity, connected data is no longer a nice-to-have — it's essential.

Klir is the Operational Data Hub that connects water utility programs, data, and decisions into one connected operational system. It replaces fragmented tools and siloed data with a unified view of Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Industrial Pretreatment operations — giving teams the clarity, visibility, and continuity to act sooner and with more confidence.

Klir is entering a period of rapid growth and works with large, complex water utilities across North America, including major cities and regional authorities.

About the Role

As Klir scales its enterprise customer base, the number and complexity of concurrent implementations is increasing. We're hiring a Senior IT Project Manager to own the governance, coordination, and successful delivery of a portfolio of enterprise Klir implementations — critical to ensuring predictable delivery across multiple customers while maintaining strong customer partnerships and high-quality outcomes.

This person will act as the primary conduit between Klir and multiple enterprise customers, working closely with customer-side IT project managers while orchestrating Klir's internal implementation, data, product, and customer success teams.

For the first 12 months, this role will have a concentrated focus on a single flagship enterprise implementation — a large-scale, multi-year program involving multiple public agencies, engineering partners, and regulatory stakeholders — before the portfolio expands to additional enterprise customers over time. You are not expected to perform hands-on technical implementation, but you must be highly comfortable with enterprise IT concepts, integrations, and data migration conversations, and able to lead those discussions with confidence.

Location: This position is remote based in California.

What You'll Do

Portfolio & Delivery Management

  • Own a portfolio of concurrent enterprise Klir implementations, including an initial anchor program with a single large, multi-agency public-sector customer.
  • Balance priorities, capacity, and risk across multiple active projects.
  • Provide clear visibility into portfolio status, risks, and dependencies.
  • Ensure consistent delivery standards while adapting to customer-specific needs.

Project Governance & Initiation

  • Lead formal project initiation for enterprise Klir implementations.
  • Develop and maintain Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), governance frameworks and RACIs, and stakeholder maps and communication plans.
  • Establish and run delivery cadence, including weekly project status meetings, monthly project check-ins, and quarterly executive steering committee meetings.

Delivery & Execution Management

  • Own integrated project plans and manage delivery against agreed scope, milestones, and timelines.
  • Track risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans across the portfolio.
  • Proactively manage delivery risk in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, including programs spanning multiple public agencies and engineering/implementation partners.
  • Lead change control and scope discussions in partnership with internal teams and customers.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day counterpart to customer IT Project Managers across multiple accounts.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer IT teams, operational and business stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
  • Navigate enterprise and public-sector environments with patience, persistence, and professionalism.

Commercial & Milestone Oversight

  • Track project milestones tied to commercial deliverables across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on milestone sign-off, invoicing, and payments.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with contractual obligations and SLAs.

Technical & Data Collaboration

  • Be fluent in enterprise delivery concepts including system integrations, data migration and data quality, and data exchange between systems (e.g., SCADA, LIMS, historian systems).
  • Partner closely with Klir's Data Architect and technical specialists.
  • Structure and lead technical discussions — including security and governance readiness reviews — without being hands-on.
  • Maintain working familiarity with water-sector regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., state drinking water and water quality regulatory bodies, EPA) as they affect implementation scope.

Customer Success & Value Realization

  • Work in close partnership with Customer Success Managers to ensure implementation SLAs are met across the portfolio.
  • Align implementation outcomes with long-term customer value.
  • Plan and coordinate training and enablement sessions.
  • Support analysis of customer “as-is” workflows and map them to Klir's target-state workflows.
  • Ensure customers are confident, trained, and prepared for long-term success on Klir.

What Success Looks Like

  • Multiple enterprise implementations are delivered predictably and professionally.
  • Portfolio-level risks are identified early and actively managed.
  • Customers experience Klir as a trusted, credible enterprise partner.

  • Customers reach go-live confident in Klir and positioned for long-term value realization.
