Geometry/Meshing Engineer

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and productize novel computational geometry handling and meshing approaches for physics simulation (e.g., CFD, structural analysis, thermal simulation) and Physics AI workflows with a focus on automation.
  • Drive critical organizational initiatives by solving the toughest technical challenges related to geometry ingestion and mesh generation, delivering measurable value to customers.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision for geometry and meshing technology that is aligned with organizational goals.
  • Proactively identify and resolve significant technical risks to the company's long-term success, providing technical guidance to leadership on roadmapping and key technical trade-offs.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams focusing on customer-centric problem solving.
  • Balance research innovation with practical implementation to enable new product capabilities.

Who you are:

  • Credentials / Experience: Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; 5+ years of software development experience (post PhD) in computational geometry and/or meshing with a strong track record of delivering customer value.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep, recognized expertise in computational geometry, meshing, or a related broad domain. Primary emphasis on experience with 3D, complex geometry from realistic, industry-grade applications. Exhibits flexibility in technical approach to ensure successful outcomes, regardless of physics domain or industry vertical.
  • Programming: Strong experience in writing production-level, performant code in C++ (C++17 or later). Experience with parallel programming via shared memory (OMP), MPI for distributed computing, or CUDA for GPUs is a plus. Proficient in Python. Enterprise-level software development and testing practices.
  • Operates at the intersection of business strategy and engineering reality, demonstrating the ability to work with customers directly to deliver successful outcomes while managing risks.
  • Acts as a force multiplier across the organization, evidenced by mentorship and sponsorship of colleagues toward greater ownership.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, working collaboratively with low ego and clear communication.
