Fabrication Technician

Summary

The Fabrication Technician is responsible for fabricating, finishing, and preparing the components and assemblies used in Martin Bionics' prosthetic products and services. Primary responsibilities include meeting production goals, preparing and modifying plastic and carbon fiber components, pulling plastic, mixing plaster, laminating sockets with resin, and finalizing components for assembly of prosthetic sockets.

Primary Duties

Fabrication

• Prepare parts and materials for assembly of check sockets
• Cut, grind, and finish plastic and carbon fiber sockets
• Cut and buff components for assembly
• Pull plastic, mix plaster, and laminate sockets with resin
• Apply Loctite to fasteners and prepare components for attachment to prosthetic sockets

Cleanliness & Organization

• Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area
• Organize raw materials, components, and supplies
• Track and maintain inventory levels

Safety

• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA requirements
• Properly use tools, equipment, and required personal protective equipment

Production

• Meet established production goals while maintaining quality and accuracy
• Complete assigned work efficiently and within established timelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma, required
• Working knowledge of hand tools, required
• Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment utilizing a variety of equipment, preferred
• Previous experience in prosthetic fabrication, preferred

Evaluation

• Regular, informal one-on-one meetings with supervisor for bi-directional feedback
• Formal performance review to take place annually with supervisor

Physical Demands

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
• Extended periods of standing
