Maintenance Technician

Mayorga Organics is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager, this role is critical to ensuring our production operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing fine-tune adjustments to machinery, responding promptly to equipment breakdowns, and conducting routine preventive maintenance. Key Responsibilities


Equipment Repair and Troubleshooting

• Respond quickly and effectively to production equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.


Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Perform regular mechanical inspections, lubrication, and scheduled preventive maintenance procedures on facility and production equipment.


System Operation

• Make precise adjustments to production equipment to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and product quality.


Documentation

• Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date maintenance logs and work orders using the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).


Equipment Operation

• Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other motorized facility equipment as needed and as authorized.


Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate effectively with machine operators, shift supervisors, and management regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and improvement opportunities.


Time Management

• Prioritize tasks effectively to manage emergency repairs and routine maintenance while working independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications and Requirements


Experience

• Previous industrial maintenance experience required.
• Experience in food manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.


Technical Skills

• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.


Safety and Compliance

• Thorough understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Strict adherence to all company safety, food safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Complying with all certifications, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards

Report to management any potential food safety issues and non-conforming products

Report to management/supervisor of any unsafe conditions or acts that affect health and physical safety.

• High degree of reliability, accountability, and professionalism.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate tight spaces around machinery.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature changes and elevated noise levels, for extended periods.
