Position Summary

The Creative Internship is designed for a leader who is passionate about both technical/musical excellence and mentorship. The Creative Intern will split their time between developing the Menlo Music School summer program for kids and students and supporting our weekend worship and creative executions. They will be a part of creating meaningful weekend experiences to help people experience Jesus through art & technology. During their time at Menlo Church they will be coached and supported by worship leaders, and the central creative staff. 


Essential Functions

  • Assist in planning and supporting the Menlo Music School Summer 2026 program, helping mentor and develop young musicians to lead worship with both skill and heart.
  • Support the worship and creative teams in developing and demoing worship arrangements for weekend services and special events.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to help produce central worship resources for campuses, including tutorial content such as drum and bass guides.
  • Assist in composing and producing musical underscore for video content and creative projects.
  • Participate in weekly service design meetings, contributing ideas and learning the process of planning worship experiences.
  • Support worship experience preparation by helping organize equipment, maintaining instruments, and assisting with stage and technical setup.
  • Attend weekend services regularly and assist the worship team while developing personal musicianship and excellence in worship leadership.
  • Receive mentorship and coaching from worship and creative leaders to grow in musicianship, spiritual formation, and creative ministry leadership.
  • Assist with additional creative or worship-related projects as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Relevant Experience

  • High School graduate or above
  • Preferable experience serving on a worship or production team

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Ableton, Planning Center & G-Suite
  • Proficiency in at least one musical instrument used in our services.
  • Proficiency in music software and Menlo sound boards
  • Skill in teaching and working with students


Work Conditions

  • This job regularly operates in a church setting with office equipment, stage, storage containers, classrooms.
  • Must be physically fit to perform a variety of tasks, including lifting, carrying, running cables and moving objects like music & sound equipment. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate computer & musical equipment. 
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job may include the ability to work for extended periods of time on a computer screen.
  • Days and hours of work are Sunday through Thursday, with occasional Wednesday or Thursday evening rehearsals, Sunday mornings, and various daytime meetings Mon-Thurs in Menlo Park.
