About the role

At PopStroke, you'll have the opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art entertainment technology within the golf and entertainment industry. Your role will involve managing IT systems and deploying hardware networks, and other technology solutions aimed at elevating the experience for our guests. Joining our venue technology team will position you at the forefront of shaping PopStroke's future, making a profound and lasting impact on its trajectory.


Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports to: VP of Construction & Development

Location: Plano/Dallas, TX with travel to venues throughout the United States.

What you'll do

This role is responsible for the overall strategy and execution for all IT computer systems, applications, tools, and networks across all PopStroke venues and corporate locations. You’ll collaborate across departments to implement processes and systems to support the accelerating growth of PopStroke.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and support IT tools and services which include Microsoft 365, Okta, Slack.
  • Lead IT initiatives and projects, aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals.
  • Deploy remote monitoring and management (RMM) solutions across devices and servers, mobile device management (MDM) solutions, and end point security solutions.
  • Own the procurement and provisioning of computers, and other technical hardware.
  • Oversee daily operations of service help desk requests, account provisioning, and implement automation across systems and applications.
  • Implement and maintain real-time monitoring and alerting for critical infrastructure (Meraki Dashboard, SNMP tools, etc.).
  • Assist with the design, deployment, and management of complex network environments, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless systems across multi-site operations.
  • Support on-site installations and upgrades, including occasional travel to venues for implementation and validation testing; valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Implement and support a Knowledge Base for technology systems and tools.
  • Source and configure primary and backup internet from fiber, coaxial, and cellular services.
  • Occasional weekend, holiday and/or after hour support may be required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 20% of the time to individual locations as needed; valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Experience managing and supporting Microsoft 365, and/or Google Workspace across an enterprise.
  • Ability to configure and support Okta, and provision integrations with SSO.
  • Experience managing, deploying, and troubleshooting Windows and Mac computers through RMM tools and services like Kandji, NinjaOne, etc.
  • Experience designing, documenting, implementing, and testing highly available networks with automatic failover between multiple ISPs.
  • Ability to configure, install, and support Cloud VOIP services and handsets.
  • Experience with VLANS, Wifi configurations, dynamic and static IPs for venue equipment.
  • Familiarity with Ubiquiti and other Wi-Fi platforms, supporting large-scale wireless deployments.
  • Knowledge of IT compliance, risk management, and data privacy regulations.
  • Experience managing and maintaining hardware (servers, storage, networking equipment).
  • Familiarity with endpoint security platforms, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, and advanced threat protection.
  • Ability to configure, deploy, and manage ITSM tools such as JIRA Service Manager or similar.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing relationships with external vendors or service providers.
  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, as well as team-oriented.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, handle risk, control costs, and adhere to timelines and budget.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment where multiple site roll-outs, after-hours support, and travel may be required.
  • Ability to use tools, troubleshoot, and test equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Expertise in Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst environments, including Layer 2/Layer 3/VLAN design, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with network security technologies - Meraki MX, VPNs, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
  • Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise or Security track), CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools to identify, assess, and remediate system and network vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with fiber, Cat6, and low-voltage cabling standards and terminations.
  • Background in AV systems, POS, or IoT integrations within hospitality or entertainment venues.
  • Certifications: CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Meraki CMSS, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience in multi-unit environments such as hospitality, retail, or sports entertainment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
