Assistant Property Manager

Role Overview

  • This role focuses on building positive relationships with residents, assisting with leasing and financial tasks, and coordinating property activities that foster a sense of community. A successful Assistant Property Manager demonstrates strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance the needs of residents and property ownership while contributing to the overall success and performance of the property. This role will float between multiple sites as needed. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial & Administrative Support
  • Assist with preparing budgets, financial reports, and rent collection.
  • Monitor and track expenses, providing recommendations for efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Support lease administration, including renewals, notices, and resident documentation.

Resident Engagement & Customer Service

  • Serve as a main point of contact for residents, responding promptly to inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating resident events that build community and engagement.
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming presence in the leasing office and throughout the community.

Leasing & Occupancy Support

  • Support the leasing process by conducting tours, preparing lease documents, and assisting with applications.
  • Monitor occupancy and retention, report trends, and provide recommendations to the Property Manager.
  • Help manage marketing initiatives and outreach to attract prospective residents.

Property Operations & Maintenance Coordination

  • Process and track resident maintenance requests, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Conduct routine property walk-throughs and report any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to support efficient property upkeep.

Community Building & Hospitality

  • Assist in implementing programs that enhance the resident experience.
  • Demonstrate a resident-first mindset by anticipating needs and delivering thoughtful, solution-oriented service.
  • Uphold community standards, policies, and procedures to ensure a harmonious living environment.
  • Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Real Estate, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in residential property management.
  • Reliable mode of transportation required as this role supports multiple properties. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating a sense of community within a residential setting.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of fair housing regulations and property management best practices.
  • A hospitality or customer service background is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of property management operations and financial principles.
  • Proficiency in using Yardi and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Willingness to embrace the mission and values of the company.
