Graphic Designer

THE ROLE

The Graphic Designer creates the work that people see first - the key art that stops a scroll, the ad that sells a ticket, the signage that makes a field feel like a festival.

You will design across the full Rise Up Selects portfolio: our own festivals and concerts, and the client events we market under service agreements. The work spans digital and physical, from a 1080x1080 story frame to a 40-foot stage banner, and it moves fast. A lineup gets confirmed on a Tuesday and announces on a Thursday.

This is a role for someone with a real point of view about design who can also hit a deadline without drama.

PORTFOLIO FOCUS

  • Rise Up Selects festivals, curated events, and venue properties
  • External agency projects for client promoters and event owners

WHAT YOU'LL DO

KEY ART AND BRAND

  • Develop key art and brand identity for festivals, concert series, and individual shows
  • Extend key art into full campaign systems across every placement and format
  • Maintain and evolve brand guidelines across the Rise Up Selects house brand and each event property
  • Adapt to and protect client brand standards on agency projects, working within their guidelines rather than ours
  • Keep Rise Up Selects positioned as an aesthetic leader in the industry

CAMPAIGN AND DIGITAL

  • Design paid campaign assets across Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, and other platforms, built to spec and built to perform
  • Create organic social content including static, carousel, and story formats
  • Design email and SMS creative, landing pages, and ticketing page assets
  • Build asset variations at the volume paid campaigns require without letting quality slip

PHYSICAL AND ON-SITE

  • Design print-ready materials including posters, flyers, and street team collateral
  • Create large-format signage, banners, stage and site branding, wayfinding, and credentials
  • Prepare production-ready files and coordinate with print vendors on specs, proofs, and deadlines
  • Design merchandise concepts as needed

PARTNERSHIP AND SPONSORSHIP

  • Design sponsorship decks, partnership one-sheets, and pitch materials
  • Create co-branded assets that serve both our brand and our partners'
  • Produce sponsor recap materials and activation assets

PROCESS AND COLLABORATION

  • Work closely with marketing managers and the paid digital team to understand what each asset needs to do before designing it
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in ClickUp against announce dates, on-sale dates, and print deadlines
  • Maintain organized, accessible file structures and asset libraries so the team can find what it needs
  • Take feedback well, iterate quickly, and know when to push back on a note
  • Additional duties as assigned

NICE TO HAVE

The following are not requirements, but they are genuinely useful here and we would weigh them in your favor:

  • Motion graphics and animated assets for digital and social placements
  • Video editing
  • Merchandise and apparel design
  • Illustration

WHO YOU ARE

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of professional graphic design experience, with a portfolio that shows range
  • Experience in music, live events, entertainment, or agency work strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience designing for paid social and digital advertising, not just brand work
  • Experience preparing print-ready and large-format files
  • Degree in graphic design or a related field preferred; a strong portfolio matters more

SKILLS

  • Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Strong typographic and layout sensibility
  • Working knowledge of print production, color management, and file prep for large format
  • Experience working in ClickUp or a similar project management system - our design team lives in it daily
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar collaborative design tools
  • Understanding of platform specs and what actually performs in a feed versus what looks good in a deck
  • Motion graphics in After Effects and video editing in Premiere are a plus, not a requirement

WORKING STYLE

  • Exceptional attention to detail. Copy, spelling, dates, times, venue names, artist names, and sponsor logos all pass through your hands, and not everyone downstream is checking. A typo on an announce asset is public within minutes.
  • A genuine point of view about design, paired with the flexibility to work across genres that look nothing alike - reggae, rock, and country audiences do not respond to the same visual language
  • Fast without being careless; able to turn around an announce asset same-day when the moment calls for it
  • Exceptionally organized with files, versions, and naming
  • Collaborative and open to feedback, including from people who are not designers
  • Comfortable working in a shared project management system and keeping your tasks and statuses current
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality regarding unannounced lineups, strategic plans, and client information
  • Energized by a fast-paced environment and motivated by seeing your work out in the world on a field full of people

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year, based on experience.

Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week, starting the first of the month after 60 days of service (the company pays for basic medical coverage), a 401(k) plan, and 14 paid company holidays.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

Rise Up Selects values in-person collaboration and the team cohesion that comes with it. We are an office-first company, based in Salt Lake City, and we would love to have you here.

That said, design is one of the areas where we are genuinely open to remote. If you are the right person and you are somewhere else, we want to hear from you. Remote designers need strong self-direction, excellent communication, and the discipline to keep their work visible to the team in ClickUp.

Availability during evenings and weekends is expected around announce dates, on-sales, and event weeks. Lineups confirm late and assets need to be ready when the announce goes out.

A note on our calendar: Time off is not available during the two weeks immediately preceding and the one week immediately following any Rise Up Selects festival or major event. We mention this upfront because it matters - our year concentrates the most demanding stretches around a handful of dates, and we want candidates to understand that rhythm before joining.

This is a full-time position.
