Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator - Track Loader

Location: 2251 Silver Creek Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Type: Full time

Typical Work Schedule: 4:00pm-1:00am

Pay Range: $20.00-$23.00 plus $2.00 pay differential

About the role:

The Track Loader Operator role at Silver Creek Materials is a hands-on, equipment-driven position focused on moving and managing large volumes of material in a recycling, composting, and mining environment.

What you'll do:

In the composting department at Silver Creek Materials, the Track Loader Operator plays a key production role, handling organic materials and keeping the composting process running smoothly. The main responsibility is to move, mix, and manage organic materials (like green waste, wood chips, and compost) using a track loader to support the compost production cycle. The operator will move raw materials such as:

  • Yard waste (brush, leaves, grass)
  • Wood chips, mulch
  • Organic debris


  • Blend materials into proper mixes for composting
  • Build and maintain windrows (long compost piles)
  • Turn or reposition piles as needed
  • Feed grinders, screeners, or other processing equipment
  • Load finished compost or mulch into trucks
  • Organize stockpiles for efficient access
  • Keep areas clean and separated (raw vs finished material)
  • Maintain safe and organized work zones
  • Prevent contamination between materials
  • Manage pile sizes and layout for airflow and drainage
  • Operate a track loader for most of the shift
  • Work in tight or uneven terrain around piles
  • Perform accurate bucket control for mixing and loading
  • Strong organic odors (normal part of the job)
  • Dust, moisture, and mud depending on weather
  • Outdoor work in heat, humidity, and cold
  • Constant movement around active heavy equipment


Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid heavy equipment operator's license or certification.
  • Proven experience operating various heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, 963k Trak Loader preferred, etc.
  • Solid understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Physical stamina and fitness to withstand long hours of sitting, standing, and operating heavy machinery.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
  • CDL preferred not required.
