Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Spanish Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an engaging instructional program that fosters student growth and achievement. You will work in a dynamic and strategic environment that encourages innovation in teaching methods and educational tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement problem-based lessons aligned with state standards.
  • Plan and implement engaging, student-centered Spanish language lessons aligned with state and national world language standards.
  • Develop lessons that incorporate grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, ensuring a well-rounded language education.
  • Integrate authentic cultural materials, such as music, literature, history, and current events, to enhance students' understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures.
  • Foster a language-rich classroom environment where Spanish is the primary mode of communication.
  • Implement interactive and hands-on learning strategies, such as games, storytelling, skits, and real-world scenarios to make language acquisition fun and effective.
  • Encourage students to develop oral proficiency through structured conversations, debates, role-playing, and presentations in Spanish.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents to ensure academic success.
  • Offer accommodations and modifications to support the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies, improve teaching practices, and develop innovative learning experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Colorado teaching license (or ability to obtain one) with a World Languages endorsement in Spanish.
  • Strong content knowledge in Spanish and effective instructional practices.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
  • Ability to run short distances.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • School Year: 2026–2027

This position will remain open until filled, but will not be open past: July 31, 2026.
