Subquadratic

Product Marketing Manager (Technical / AI Infrastructure)

About Subquadratic

Subquadratic (SubQ) is an AI infrastructure and research company building a new class of LLMs on a proprietary post-transformer architecture. While the major labs focus on incremental transformer improvements, we’re pursuing foundational change at the model architecture layer — enabling large-context, multimodal inference that scales efficiently where traditional transformers break down.

Our models are designed for long-context reasoning, persistent memory, agentic systems, and large-scale multimodal workloads. We’re building core infrastructure for the next generation of AI systems.

About the Role

SubQ is hiring a Product Marketing Manager to help define how the market understands our technology, products, and long-term vision. This is not a traditional B2B SaaS product marketing role. We are looking for someone who deeply understands the AI/ML and developer infrastructure ecosystem and can translate highly technical concepts into compelling narratives, positioning, and messaging for sophisticated technical audiences.

You will own core product messaging and positioning across the company, helping shape how developers, researchers, founders, and enterprise technical buyers understand SubQ’s architecture, capabilities, and differentiation. This role sits at the intersection of product, research, engineering, GTM, and content.

The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking with exceptional technical storytelling and copywriting skills. You should already be familiar with the AI infrastructure landscape and have experience positioning complex technical products within fast-moving markets.

You’ll work closely with leadership, engineering, research, and marketing to drive product launches, messaging strategy, technical GTM initiatives, and category-defining narratives that help establish SubQ as a leader in next-generation AI infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Own Messaging & Positioning

Develop and refine SubQ’s core messaging, positioning, narrative, and category strategy across products, research initiatives, and GTM efforts.

Translate Complex Technical Concepts

Work closely with researchers and engineers to deeply understand complex AI infrastructure concepts and turn them into clear, credible, and differentiated messaging for technical audiences.

Drive Product Launches

Lead messaging and GTM support for product launches, benchmark releases, research announcements, demos, and technical campaigns.

Shape the Company Narrative

Help define how SubQ communicates its long-term vision, technical differentiation, and market positioning within the broader AI ecosystem.

Partner Across Teams

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, research, leadership, recruiting, GTM, and content teams to ensure consistency and clarity across all external communication.

Support Founder-Led Content

Partner with leadership on high-impact thought leadership, technical commentary, social content, conference materials, and strategic communications.

Understand the Market

Track trends across AI/ML, LLMs, inference, agents, long-context systems, developer tooling, open-source ecosystems, and frontier AI research to inform positioning and messaging strategy.

Develop Technical GTM Strategy

Help shape developer-facing and technical GTM initiatives including launch strategy, content strategy, competitive positioning, and ecosystem engagement.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4–8+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, developer marketing, technical content strategy, or related GTM roles
  • REQUIRED: Prior experience marketing AI/ML infrastructure, developer tools, LLM platforms, data infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, inference systems, or related technical products
  • Strong understanding of the AI/ML ecosystem, developer tooling landscape, and frontier AI infrastructure market
  • Exceptional copywriting, messaging, and storytelling skills
  • Proven ability to translate highly technical concepts into clear and compelling narratives for technical and executive audiences
  • Experience writing and developing messaging for developers, engineers, researchers, technical founders, or enterprise technical buyers
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop differentiated market positioning
  • Ability to work directly with highly technical teams including researchers and engineers
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership and ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and editorial judgment

Bonus Points

  • Experience working at AI infrastructure, developer tooling, or frontier AI startups
  • Experience launching developer-focused or AI infrastructure products
  • Familiarity with research papers, benchmarks, evaluations, and technical demos
  • Experience supporting founder-led technical brands or executive thought leadership
  • Experience building category narratives in emerging technology markets
  • Familiarity with open-source AI ecosystems and developer communities
  • Familiarity with tools like GitHub, Notion, HubSpot, Webflow, Figma, or analytics platforms

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-based bonus aligned with company and team goals
  • Equity participation
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-provided MacBook
  • Unlimited PTO
