About the Role

We are hiring General Laborers to support directional drilling, plowing, and underground utility installation crews. This is a hands-on field position that assists operators, locators, and foremen with daily production, site preparation, safety, and cleanup.

Travel is required. Lodging and per diem are provided for out-of-area work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drill, plow, and restoration crews with daily operations.
  • Perform hand digging, potholing support, and exposure of existing utilities.
  • Help with loading, unloading, and staging of equipment and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Set up and maintain traffic control and site safety measures as directed.
  • Assist with basic equipment and tool handling.
  • Follow all safety procedures and 811 / One-Call requirements.
  • Care for and protect company tools and equipment from damage or theft.
  • Complete required daily documentation when asked.
  • Communicate clearly with the crew and supervisors.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous construction, utility, or outdoor labor experience preferred (but strong work ethic can substitute).
  • Ability to perform physical outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to different states for work (lodging and per diem provided).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with ongoing testing.
  • Professional references will be required and checked.
  • Comfortable accepting responsibility for company tools and equipment, including proper care and protection from theft or damage.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on underground utility, fiber, or directional drilling crews.
  • Experience with shovels, jumping jacks, plate compactors, or basic construction tools.
  • Ability to operate a vacuum excavator or assist with vac operations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • CDL a plus.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
