Job Purpose

VulcanForms is seeking a Vice President of Physical Security to own, architect, and continuously mature our enterprise physical security strategy across multiple advanced manufacturing facilities in the Devens, MA area, and future sites as VulcanForms scales. You will safeguard our state-of-the-art facilities, multi-million dollar assets, proprietary intellectual property (IP), and highly confidential customer products - setting the vision for enterprise physical security while remaining an engaged, hands-on executive, and serving as a core leader in emergency response across the broader HSSE organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy, Budget & Systems: Own the multi-year vision, roadmap, and budget for VulcanForms’ physical security program, and lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and standardization of enterprise-grade access control, CCTV/IP surveillance, intrusion detection, badging, and visitor management systems across all current and future facilities.
  • Vendor Management & Executive Reporting: Manage security technology vendors and integrators to ensure high system uptime and cost-effective upgrades, and regularly brief the VP of HSSE and executive leadership on security posture, emerging threats, and investment priorities.
  • Containment & Access Controls: Establish and govern physical containment, chain-of-custody, and secure transfer protocols for highly sensitive customer products, proprietary hardware, and classified defense components; architect perimeter controls, visitor clearance, and restricted-access zones that meet defense customer and ITAR/CMMC requirements.
  • Audit Readiness & Risk Assessment: Partner with HSSE and Legal to ensure audit readiness across all high-security zones, and lead ongoing vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and insider-threat risk analysis
  • Team & Program Leadership: Recruit, build, and lead a multi-tiered, 24/7 security organization (in-house and/or contract), setting site security policies, post orders, and crisis/de-escalation protocols while partnering with IT, Facilities, HR, and Operations on identity management, secure logistics, and workplace violence prevention.
  • Agency Partnerships: Build and personally maintain strategic relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement, serving as the primary point of contact for threat intelligence sharing and joint risk briefings.
  • Emergency Planning: Serve as a core executive leader within HSSE during site emergencies; co-own Emergency Action Plans and Incident Command System structures, and coordinate joint drills with local law enforcement, fire, and EMS in the Devens region.
  • Training & Drills: Lead recurring tabletop exercises, evacuation drills, and active-threat training for site leadership and shop-floor personnel.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive physical security leadership, including several years at the director/VP level, within advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or high-technology industrial environments handling high-value or classified hardware.
  • Defense, IP & Technical Expertise: Direct experience designing and enforcing physical security frameworks under ITAR, CMMC, or similar federal regulations, combined with hands-on fluency in modern electronic access control, video management software (VMS), badging ecosystems, and perimeter intrusion detection systems.
  • Agency Relations & Emergency Response: Proven track record building executive-level law enforcement liaison networks and leading incident command/emergency response protocols in coordination with HSSE/EHS teams.
  • Team & Executive Leadership: Demonstrated experience building, scaling, and leading a 24/7 security guard force or specialist team — including leading other managers/supervisors — and advising senior executives on enterprise security risk and strategy.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience); CPP, PSP, or formal Incident Command System training highly valued. Prior senior leadership in military intelligence, military police, or law enforcement strongly preferred.
  • Clearance/Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident) due to ITAR/defense regulatory requirements. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is strongly preferred.
