JOB DESCRIPTION

WTX Supply and Fabrication is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead all manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, safety, and operational activities at the Plainview, Texas facility. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations while delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service. The Operations Manager provides leadership for production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages operational budgets, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position has direct responsibility for supervising production, warehouse, and operational personnel and is accountable for employee performance, engagement, development, and compliance with company expectations.


ROLES/TASKS OF THE POSITION

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all manufacturing, warehouse, and facility operations.
  • Develop production plans and schedules to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators including safety, quality, productivity, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development activities.
  • Administer discipline and corrective action consistent with company policy.
  • Manage staffing levels and workforce planning to support operational demands.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, labor costs, and operating expenses.
  • Identify process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing coordination, and material flow activities.
  • Ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance and operational planning.
  • Partner with sales, engineering, purchasing, and executive leadership to achieve business objectives.
  • Investigate operational, quality, and safety issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present operational reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication, production, and warehouse operations.

  • Budgeting, financial analysis, and cost-control experience.

  • Ability to interpret operational metrics and utilize data for decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP, inventory management, and Microsoft Office applications.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive manufacturing or industrial operations leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and improving safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.
  • Experience managing budgets, operational metrics, and workforce performance.
  • Experience in fabrication, industrial manufacturing, construction-related manufacturing, or similar environment preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
