Machinist - Turning - 2nd Shift

We’re looking for a skilled CNC Turning Machinist who can do more than run a machine.

The right person will have hands-on turning experience and be comfortable performing complete setups, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and necessary adjustments. You’ll work from prints, inspect your own parts using precision measuring equipment, troubleshoot machining issues, and take ownership of producing quality parts from setup through production.

This position is 2nd Shift - scheduled Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am.

Eligible for $2.00 per hour shift differential

Position Description:

• Manufacture custom products to print using CNC milling equipment and other machine tools. Independently perform complete machine setups and machining operations while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Primary Objectives:

• Manufacture quality parts to print specifications and required tolerances in a timely manner.
• Independently set up and operate CNC turning equipment to support changing production requirements.
• Complete daily manufacturing work in accordance with the quality management system.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for manufacturing of parts
• Perform complete machine setups, including workholding, tooling, offsets, and required machine adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
• Inspection of parts
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues as they arise.
• Following safety procedures
• Correct documentation (timekeeping, BOM’s, prints, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned such as general maintenance, housekeeping, etc.

Qualifications:

• Previous CNC milling experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently complete machine setups from start to finish.
• Machine Tool Technology degree or related technical education preferred.
• Ability to setup and run various programs on machine tools
• Ability to multi‐task, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude preferred
• Comfortable using various computer software
• Ability to use and read measuring equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the day
• Good verbal and written communication skills
