About the role

The Painter primes steel doors and frames and related components using appropriate painting techniques and equipment while ensuring a high standard of finish and consistency. The ideal candidate will be a team player with the ability to manage a dynamic workload and maintain quality in a fast-paced production environment. 

This is a new position being staffed with one (1) opening. Candidates must be available to work onsite five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 02:30 p.m.

What you'll do

  • Prime steel doors and frames and related components using appropriate painting techniques and equipment. 
  • Prepare surfaces before priming, including cleaning and masking as required. 
  • Conduct routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of painting equipment and the paint booth. 
  • Troubleshoot painting equipment and resolve basic mechanical or quality issues. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Work collaboratively and safely with colleagues in cross-functional roles and departments for related projects. 
  • Other related duties, as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education: High school or equivalent education and experience. 

 

  • Prior experience in priming/painting is an asset 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes 
  • Knowledge of painting techniques including spraying systems. 
  • Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures. 
  • Experience reviewing products for deviations and/or non-conformities 

 Work Conditions

  • Working in a manufacturing environment daily 
  • ·Ability to wear a respirator for extended periods of time 
  • Remain alert for extended periods, paying keen attention to detail 
  • Ability to lift 23 kilograms (50 lbs)
