What You'll Do

In this role, you will build, maintain, and drive features for our flagship search and merchandising products under the Search and Merchandising Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will independently own end-to-end backend features and take technical ownership of Go microservices. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, QA, and DevOps to refine user stories, evaluate technical feasibility, and deploy high-availability services. Through your work, you will ensure high reliability, low latency, and continuous performance for key commerce workloads, playing a crucial role in helping Athos deliver exceptional search and merchandising experiences for our clients.


How You Will Succeed

  • Independently own and deliver end-to-end features across search and merchandising backends from requirements through deployment.
  • Take technical ownership of specific backend services and Go microservices.
  • Collaborate proactively with Product Managers, Designers, and QA to refine user stories and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Produce clean, idiomatic Go code and conduct thorough peer code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing production software while maintaining system performance SLAs.
  • Assist in onboarding junior engineers and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Partner with DevOps on infrastructure-related activities, cloud systems, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.


What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining distributed, cloud-based, high-availability, and high-traffic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability writing production-grade Golang services.
  • Familiarity with modern data and deployment tools including Elasticsearch, Milvus, ScyllaDB, MySQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Argo.
  • Prior e-commerce search and merchandising domain experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with AI tools, specifically GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Gemini, is considered ideal but optional.
