People Operations Manager

About the role

This position will be our first full-time hire into People Operations. AtmosZero has grown and plans to continue to grow rapidly. You will be the person to make sure we strategize for and execute this growth in the best possible way for our employees. Your position will have a broad remit and we will want you to make it your own. Our priorities revolve around building a high-functioning, highly-collaborative team where our employees receive the support they need to grow their careers while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. 

What you'll do

  • Steer strategic growth planning - join AtmosZero's leadership in identifying and defining critical hires to keep us on our rapid growth trajectory 
  • Guide company policy development - as a startup, we make important company policy decisions every day and this position will need to be comfortable managing a framework for those decisions, ensuring that we choose paths that are best for our people and our company, and communicating decisions clearly 
  • Manage our hiring process - work with hiring managers to make sure we are reaching and communicating well with the candidates who will make the best and biggest impact on our team 
  • Develop processes for People Systems - we currently use Rippling as our HRIS system and will want this position to become well-versed in Rippling's functionality, ensuring that the computers handle as much of the admin as possible while People Operators handle the strategic and the tactical. This will encompass benefits and professional development administration, onboarding and offboarding management, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulation, and myriad other functions
  • Grow People Operations around you - this position will have leeway to define what People Operations will look like at AtmosZero moving forward 
  • Lead team building and other efforts to maintain team morale and cohesiveness 
  • Help develop programs that develop leaders

Preferred candidates have one or more of the following qualifications
  • Familiarity with Engineering and Manufacturing management and hiring processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience rapidly learning new tools and teaching them to others 
  • Established framework for building teams and people
  • History of managing and growing teams
