Summary of the Position

Best Equipment is seeking a skilled technician to perform repair and maintenance on municipal and contractor environmental equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on public works and municipal equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Perform welding and fabrication to maintain equipment functionality and reliability
• Read and interpret wiring schematics and electrical diagrams
• Follow shop safety guidelines and maintain safety and operational standards

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively
• Experience with heavy equipment repair, welding, and fabrication preferred
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and 12-volt electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and electrical diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

To be successful in this role, you may need to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or equipment. Vision and hearing must be sufficient to identify equipment issues and ensure safety. The position involves exposure to loud noise, odors, dust, heat, cold, and vibration. You may have to tolerate temperature fluctuations and work in various weather conditions.
