Event Assistant

About the role

As an Event Assistant, you’ll help create welcoming, well-organized experiences for people visiting and participating in events at Bethel. Responsibilities may include:

  • Helping with the setup, execution, and teardown of Bethel-sponsored and rental events across campus
  • Assisting with general event and clerical tasks, such as preparing nametags, folders, and other materials
  • Welcoming, walking, and directing guests and groups to various locations across campus
  • Interacting with and assisting prospective students, families, and other guests
  • Serving as a primary onsite contact or assisting Admissions and Conference & Event Services staff with event execution
  • Helping ensure that guests feel welcomed, valued, and cared for throughout their experience at Bethel


Qualifications

  • Must be a current Bethel undergraduate student
  • Desire to interact with people and create a positive experience for guests, students, families, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with a variety of people
  • Follow through on commitments, and can be trusted to represent Bethel well
  • No experience required, all class years are encouraged to apply


Travel: This position does not require travel.

 

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a variety of campus facilities, including event spaces, classrooms, auditoriums, and outdoors. At times the noise level can be loud, depending on the event. 


Physical Demands

Standing and/or walking and moving about for an extended period of time might be needed. May require lifting and moving equipment such as tables, chairs, staging, and audiovisual gear (typically up to 40–50 pounds).

 

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a flexible, event-based position, which means you can choose shifts and events that work with your schedule. Some weeks may be busier than others depending on our event calendar.


Please note: Some events take place during evenings and/or weekends.
