About the role
The purpose of Casa’s Reentry Program is to reduce relapse and recidivism among Latino reentering citizens living with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders (CODs) and help them develop skills to build meaningful, purposeful lives in the community. The Re-Entry Case Manager (RECM) will use assertive outreach strategies to develop and strengthen systems and linkages to enhance and expand access to a recovery-oriented continuum of care and coordinate with correctional facilities to transition participants to Casa’s fully integrated, culturally-competent, reentry-oriented Treatment and Recovery Support Services to build the Recovery Capital (internal and external resources) necessary to lay the groundwork for change, support sustained recovery, and facilitate meaningful participation in the community.
The Re-Entry Case Manager will help clients to make the transition from life in incarceration to life in the community, through the coordination of wrap-around recovery services. The RECM will be familiar with and implement services using Motivational Interviewing and Motivational Counseling Techniques, as well as being familiar with both strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to treatment.
