Cladda Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Team is a 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital serving Fredericksburg, VA and the surrounding region. The Opportunity

Cladda is seeking a board-certified (or board-eligible) Veterinary Criticalist to join our specialty team. This is a chance to lead and shape a critical care/ICU service within a supportive, well-equipped emergency and specialty hospital — working alongside emergency clinicians and other specialty services to deliver high-quality, coordinated care for our most complex patients.

What You'll Do

• Oversee management of critically ill and post-surgical patients in the ICU, including sepsis, trauma, respiratory failure, and multi-organ dysfunction
• Perform and interpret advanced monitoring and interventions (mechanical ventilation, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, blood product administration, high-flow oxygen therapy, and more)
• Collaborate closely with our emergency team on shared and transferred cases, and with other specialty services on multidisciplinary cases
• Build and mentor a technical support team dedicated to critical care, including ICU protocols and monitoring standards
• Support ongoing training of emergency clinicians and technicians in advanced critical care techniques
• Serve as a resource for referring veterinarians and support client communication around prognosis and treatment options
• Contribute to case rounds and ongoing development of hospital protocols

What We're Looking For

• DVM/VMD (or equivalent) with completion of an accredited emergency and critical care residency
• Board certification with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC) preferred; board-eligible candidates encouraged to apply
• Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills
• A team-oriented approach and interest in helping grow a new or developing specialty service
• Active or eligible veterinary license in Virginia
