Careers at DGR Systems LLC

Director of Finance, Risk & Compliance

Help Us Change the Way People Use Technology

At DGR Systems, we’re about connecting companies to the right solutions and enabling them to gain the most value from their investments. We go to great lengths to hire great people because, at our core, our clients deserve to have each person working on their project bring qualified expertise, a can-do attitude, and experience-based strategic insights to the table. They need to trust their IT consulting firm as a partner who is there to help accelerate their success and not pass them off to a junior team after the contract has been signed. Want to join us?

THE ROLE

DGR Systems designs, builds, and delivers technology for organizations that depend on it working. We are an IT solutions provider and systems integrator headquartered in Tampa, and we are growing. The finance function is being built to match.

This is a new role, and it is a build role. You will not inherit a mature department with settled processes and a thick binder of policy. You will inherit a functioning accounting team, a business with genuine financial complexity, and the mandate to build the finance, risk, and compliance infrastructure a company our size needs, and then the one we will need next.

If you want a seat where the systems are already working and the job is to keep them working, this is not that seat. If you have been waiting for the scope to build a function properly, from the ground up, with the mandate to make it stick, keep reading.

WHAT MAKES THIS HARDER THAN IT LOOKS

Finance in a solutions and integration business is its own technical discipline, and we treat it that way.

Revenue here arrives in layers. A single client engagement can carry hardware, licensing, subscription, and delivered services each with its own recognition treatment, its own cost timing, and its own contribution to the result. Vendor and partner programs settle on their own cycle, on their own terms. Reading that picture accurately takes rigor from quote through settlement, and it is one of the things that separates a well-run integrator from an average one.

Principal-versus-agent determination, gross-versus-net presentation, and disciplined accrual practice are core to this role, not edge cases. You will own the recognition framework, working alongside external CPA partners, and you will be the person leadership relies on to say what a number means and how firm it is.

We are looking for someone who has done this level of technical work and wants more of it, not less.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Accounting & Reporting

  • Accounting operations and the monthly close, leading and growing the accounting team
  • Revenue recognition policy across hardware, software, subscription, and services revenue
  • Margin integrity. The bridge from quoted to realized, and the accrual and collection of vendor incentives, rebates, and program funds

Cash, Capital & Lending

  • Cash and working capital: rolling cash forecasting, borrowing base preparation, DSO and DPO management
  • The lender relationship, the compliance calendar, and all lender reporting
  • Distributor and vendor credit programs - terms, limits, utilization, and expansion

Planning & Analysis

  • Budget, rolling forecast, variance discipline, and unit economics by line of business
  • Commission plan administration and payment accuracy

Risk & Compliance

  • The insurance program - coverage measured against actual exposure, renewals, claims, and the broker relationship
  • The enterprise risk register and the quarterly risk review
  • Tax compliance, including multi-state sales tax registration and filings
  • Financial and commercial response to client questionnaires, partner program requirements, and lender diligence

You will work alongside our external CPA firm and, where it makes sense, specialist advisors. You will direct that work and be expected to evaluate it, not simply receive it.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll Need

  • Experience personally driving the monthly close in a lean accounting environment, with the ability to balance hands-on execution and team leadership.
  • Experience in a business where capital, credit, or availability shaped what the company could actually do, and the ability to describe what that meant in practice
  • Time spent carrying a bank or lender relationship, or preparing lender reporting yourself
  • A track record of building foundational, scalable, resilient processes and policies; the kind that improves control today and still work as volume, complexity, and organizational expectations grow
  • Enough fluency with contracts and insurance to spot financial and liability exposure and raise it accurately
  • The judgment to know where your own expertise ends, and the confidence to bring in and challenge outside specialists

It Will Help If You Have

  • Worked with asset-based or borrowing-base lending, including eligibility, ineligibles, concentration, availability, and covenant reporting
  • Come from a low-margin, high-velocity resale, distribution, or channel business
  • Modeled services revenue in a business where transactions span multiple channels, including hardware, subscription, professional services, and other service lines, with the ability to understand how each component affects timing, margin, cash flow, and reported performance
  • Made ASC 606 principal-versus-agent and gross-versus-net calls, particularly on subscription resale and other complex scenarios
  • Handled multi-state sales tax nexus
  • Been at a company through a comparable growth inflection

We’ll Teach You

  • Our OEM and partner program mechanics, and how our industry economics work
  • Our tooling, systems, and sales process
  • The IT product and services landscape, if you are coming from another industry

WHO THIS ISN’T FOR

We would rather be direct than waste your time.

  • If your career has been inside larger organizations where the systems, the staff, and the rules were already in place, the ambiguity here might be uncomfortable rather than energizing.
  • If you want to direct the work rather than do it, this is the wrong seat. You will lead a team and you will also directly help close the books.
  • If you see finance as a backward-looking reporting function rather than a forward-looking operating partner that helps model deal economics, margin, cash impact, and risk, this role will not match your instincts.
  • If risk management to you means building a case for saying no, we will frustrate each other. This role exists to help the business move quickly and safely, not to slow it down on principle.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We expect the person in this role to carry meaningful responsibility, and the compensation is designed to reflect that scope. This is a senior leadership seat with direct influence over how the company manages financial performance, risk, capital, and operational discipline as we continue to grow.

Base salary range $150,000 - $175,000 (based on experience and alignment with scope of role)

Work arrangement - Hybrid – Office Anchored

DGR Systems also offers a robust company benefits package designed to support employees and their families, including competitive health and welfare benefits, paid time off, retirement savings support, and other company-sponsored programs.
