Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a key role responsible for supporting core financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll, and grant reporting, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Position Scope and Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and confidentially.
  • Record and process weekly accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements and credit card payments.
  • Prepare grant claims and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Maintain prepaid expense and capital asset schedules and related monthly entries.
  • Prepare and file quarterly GST/HST, EHT, and WSIB returns.
  • Support annual audits and prepare required documentation.
  • Complete annual reconciliations for EHT, RRSP contributions, and benefit premiums.
  • Support internal financial reporting.
  • Perform other accounting duties as required.

Key Deliverables

  • Supporting month-end close within 5–7 business days, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of accurate grant claims in accordance with deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate GST/HST, WSIB, and EHT filings.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP system.
  • Experience with Rippling or equivalent payroll systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and month-end procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Assets:

  • Experience with government grant reporting and claims.
  • Proven ability to continually improve and automate relevant reporting, leveraging systems capabilities. Experience in an emerging growth environment.

Compensation & Total Rewards


The expected annual salary range for this role is $70,000–$85,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and overall fit for the position.
