Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant, Tax Compliance to join our tax team. The ideal candidate will support the company’s income tax accounting and compliance functions, including preparation of tax provision calculations, tax return support, and tax-related financial reporting. The role requires a solid understanding of corporate taxation and an interest in developing expertise in ASC 740, tax compliance, and financial statement reporting. This position provides significant exposure to federal, state, and international tax matters within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.  This position will report to our Director, Tax Compliance and be based in our Global HQ in Herndon, Virginia.  A hybrid work structure working in the office 3 days per week is the expectation.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·       Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including supporting tax footnote disclosures and related workpapers.

·       Prepare return-to-provision calculations and monthly tax account reconciliations.

·       Support internal and external audit requests by gathering, organizing, and analyzing tax-related information.

·       Assist with the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.

·       Monitor and respond to federal, state, and local tax notices and coordinate with advisors as needed.

·       Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for tax compliance, tax accounting, and reporting requirements.

·       Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and external advisors on tax-related matters and requests.

·       Support tax payment processes and coordinate with Treasury and Accounts Payable to ensure timely tax filings and payments.

·       Prepare tax forms and documentation, including W-8, W-9, and other tax-related certifications.

·       Assist with tax planning, research, and special projects as assigned.

·       Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, enhance controls, and increase efficiency through automation and technology solutions.

·       Support the implementation and maintenance of tax technology tools, including provision, compliance, and workflow management systems.

 

Job Requirements:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·       Those who possess CPA, are a CPA candidate, or have a Master's in Taxation are highly encouraged to apply.

·       3-5 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.

·       Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance; exposure to ASC 740 and income tax provision processes.

·       Global Tax Compliance experience within EMEA and/or APAC is highly preferred

·       Experience preparing tax workpapers, account reconciliations, and supporting tax compliance or tax accounting processes.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including experience working with large data sets and performing data analysis.

·       Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

·       Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external advisors.

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

·       Eagerness to learn and develop technical expertise in corporate taxation, tax accounting, and tax technology.
