EdgeConneX is seeking a Tax Manager to lead and drive the company’s global tax compliance process. Reporting to the Director, Tax Compliance, this role is the central point of coordination for our outside tax consultants; managing information requests, setting the compliance calendar, and reviewing deliverables across U.S. federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions. The Tax Manager also supports the annual income tax provision and tax footnote review, owns global quarterly estimated tax calculations, and manages monthly tax account reconciliations. Success in this role requires someone who works well independently: comfortable prioritizing across competing workstreams, delegating effectively, and driving deliverables to completion without day-to-day direction.  This position is based in our Herndon, VA and follows a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

·       Lead and drive the global income tax compliance process, including the compliance calendar, and on-time delivery across U.S. federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions.

·       Serve as the primary point of contact for outside tax consultants - coordinating information requests, managing data flow, resolving open items, and performing first-level review of their work product.

·       Review U.S. federal and state income tax returns, extensions, and supporting workpapers prepared by external providers.

·       Prepare and review global quarterly estimated tax calculations and payment requirements across all jurisdictions.

·       Own monthly income tax account reconciliations, including current and deferred tax accounts, and investigate and resolve reconciling items.

·       Assist with the review of the annual income tax provision under ASC 740 and related tax footnote disclosures, including deferred tax balances, GAAP to Stat adjustments, effective tax rate analysis, valuation allowance assessments, and uncertain tax positions.

·       Prioritize, delegate, and drive multiple concurrent workstreams, assigning work to internal team members and external providers and holding both to agreed deadlines.

·       Coach and develop tax team members, reviewing their work and providing timely feedback.

·       Manage income tax notices, audits, and inquiries from federal, state, and foreign taxing authorities.

·       Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in relevant jurisdictions and assess the impact on the company’s compliance obligations and tax position.

·       Support tax planning initiatives and transaction-related analysis, including due diligence and integration support as needed.

·       Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across the compliance and reporting cycle, including enhancements to tax technology tools.

Job Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA required.

·       7+ years of corporate income tax experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.

·       Working knowledge of ASC 740 and the ability to review provision calculations, deferred tax balances, and tax footnote disclosures.

·       Familiarity with U.S. international information reporting, including Forms 5471 and Schedules K-2/K-3.

·       Strong project management and organizational skills with consistent attention to detail and audit-ready documentation.

·       Advanced Excel and analytical skills; comfort working with large data sets from multiple source systems.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.

·       Experience with foreign tax compliance and foreign income tax provisions within EMEA and/or APAC.  Africa tax experience would be a major plus

·       Exposure to OECD Pillar Two (GloBE) reporting requirements.

·       Experience in a multinational, high-growth, or capital-intensive industry.
