We are currently hiring a Prep Cook to join our growing team. Farm 12 includes a 125-seat full-service restaurant, a full-service wedding and event center, and Fika Coffee Shop & Bakery, with continued growth underway in the Puyallup Valley.

 

Prep Cook Job Responsibilities:

·          Arrive at work on time.

·          Keep work area clean and neat.

·          Keep all food products fully stocked.

·          Prepare food in a timely manner.

·          Ensure quality and portions are consistent.

·          Review daily special items and “86” list.

·          Review stocks of menu items to determine size of stock.

·          Check stock of prepped items.

·          Stock prep.

·          Perform line checks.

·          Help dishwasher, washing dishes and putting them away.

·          Follow all health, hygiene, and safety standards.

·          Complete daily checklists.

·          Ensure kitchen exceeds all areas to obtain and maintain an “excellent” Health score.

·          Ensure the kitchen is properly stocked with products and supplies.

·          Set-up and break-down prep area.

·          Familiar with all products provided on menus. Portion sizes, recipes, ingredients, and prices.

·          Read, understand, and follow the Employee Handbook, Training Guide, and specific Departmental policies.


Our ideal candidate:

·          Take pride in their attention to detail and have a passion for keeping clean and organized.

·          Has a minimum of 1 year experience working in a high-volume prep kitchen.

·          Is a minimum of 18 years old and reliable.

·          Is self-motivated, can work well under pressure and has the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

·          Can be flexible in his/her work schedule (including weekend/holiday availability).

·          Has a Washington State Food Handlers Permit.

·          Can focus on the job while staying on their feet and moving about freely, which can include bending, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy items.


Pay and Benefits:

·          Pay range: -$19-$22 per hour.

·          Additional pay ranging from $1-$3/hour in tips.

·          We pay weekly.

·          Health insurance for full-time staff (after 90 days of employment); includes life insurance and access to our Employee Assistance Program.
