Frogslayer

Part-Time IT Support Specialist

Who We Are

Frogslayer is the AI & Automation integrator for the middle market. We’re a custom software and AI partner that rescues stalled projects, modernizes legacy systems, and designs, builds, and scales the solutions our clients’ businesses depend on.

Through our AI Office model, we embed senior strategists and engineers directly inside our clients’ businesses to help them figure out what to build, what to buy, what to ignore, and then actually ship it.

We aim to be a long-term career destination for people who take pride in their work, care about their teammates, and want to keep growing. We value curiosity, follow-through, and solving problems that make a meaningful difference to the people we support.

Who You Are

You enjoy figuring out why something isn’t working—and helping someone get back to their day. You’re patient with questions, resourceful when troubleshooting, and organized enough to keep track of the details.

You may be starting your IT career, studying a related field, or turning hands-on experience into your first professional role. We’re interested in how you learn, communicate, and approach problems. You can ask for help, explain what you’ve tried, and follow through on what you say you’ll do.

You’re also curious about how businesses use technology. As you build your skills, you’d welcome the opportunity to work with clients and learn the fundamentals of technology consulting.

The Role

You’ll help keep Frogslayer’s everyday technology running smoothly: supporting employees, preparing equipment, maintaining accurate records, and improving the instructions people rely on. You’ll work with experienced teammates and external IT partners to resolve issues and learn new systems.

Internal IT support is the core of the role. As your skills grow and capacity allows, you’ll also assist with client systems and planned IT projects. An experienced team member will scope and review those assignments, with opportunities to shadow, contribute, and gradually take on more responsibility.

This position starts part-time and is based in our College Station office. The hands-on nature of employee support and equipment preparation requires an in-office presence. There is potential for the role to grow into a full-time position as you demonstrate readiness and business needs develop. A transition to full-time is not guaranteed.

Plan on 20–25 hours per week, with all scheduled work hours performed in our College Station office. We’ll agree on your working hours based on your availability and the team’s support needs, including coursework commitments where applicable. Schedule flexibility applies to when you work; this is an in-office position.

Learn by doing

You’ll have responsibility for completing routine work, established procedures to guide you, and a clear path to ask questions or escalate more complex issues. Previous consulting experience is not required.

You're a Good Fit If

  • You have 0–2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent foundation from coursework, internships, campus IT work, personal projects, or other hands-on learning. No degree required.
  • You’re comfortable setting up and troubleshooting computers, common software, and peripherals, with familiarity in Windows or macOS and a willingness to learn both.
  • You understand basic connectivity concepts and can work methodically through an everyday Wi-Fi, printer, or application problem.
  • You communicate clearly with people of different technical backgrounds, ask thoughtful questions, and provide useful progress updates.
  • You’re dependable, organized, and comfortable following checklists, documenting your work, and keeping several requests moving.
  • You can commit to 20–25 hours per week and work in our College Station office during all scheduled hours.
  • You’re interested in both the technical problem and its effect on the person or business experiencing it.

Helpful, but not required: CompTIA A+ or similar training; experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, device-management tools, or a ticketing system; and customer-service experience. You don’t need to know every tool we use on day one.

  • Help document client environments, support procedures, project tasks, and completed work.
  • Support system setup and planned changes under the direction of the responsible technical lead.
