JumpOff

Applied AI Associate

About JumpOff

JumpOff is an AI advisory and transformation firm. We build working AI and the adoption to run it, for enterprises, financial sponsors and owner-led companies across sectors including financial services, private equity, industrials, automotive, distribution, consumer, healthcare and legal services. We're focused on AI initiatives with high ROI that lasts past the excitement. We are tool-agnostic by design, Anthropic certified, and OpenAI and Microsoft AI Cloud Partners.

Getting a company to the frontier is half the job. The other half is preparing it to stay there without us.

To support client demand and growth we are hiring Applied AI Associates in Atlanta.

About the role

You work where the off-the-shelf tools run out. Most clients directionally know what they want: a decision made faster, a process that stops leaking time or money, a team that gets more out of the data it already has. You figure out the how and turn it into something that works, build it hands-on, and stay with it until their people run it.

The first meeting is the easy one. The work happens in the second, when the questions turn to their data, their controls and their exceptions. You will spend most of your time building, a good share of it with clients, and some of it helping shape what we offer next as the technology moves.

What you will do

  • Work with clients to understand business problems and turn them into scoped AI use cases
  • Design, build, test and deploy AI solutions, including data pipelines, LLM-based workflows and analytical tools
  • Analyze and validate client data, and find and resolve data quality issues
  • Present work and recommendations to client stakeholders, in person and remotely
  • Document what you build and support client teams as they adopt and run it
  • Travel to client sites, incl out of town up to about 30% of the time
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will learn here

  • Turning a broad client ask into scoped, buildable use cases, each with an owner and a value in dollars
  • Shipping something useful early and improving it in production
  • How businesses across many industries run and transform with AI, from the inside
  • Frontier tooling in depth, across vendors, with certification supported
  • Running working sessions with owners, operators and their teams

Who you work with

Strategists, builders and operators from private equity, management consulting and technology, with backgrounds at companies like Boston Consulting Group, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, Meta and AbbVie. We use frontier models every day, on client work and on our own, we move quickly, and we say what we think. You work directly with the founder.

Low-ego, high-agency team players who are energized by the AI moment, thrive on delivering transformational results for our clients and navigating the rapidly expanding AI frontier from up close.

What this sets you up for

Technical depth, business judgment and the trust of owners and executives, in one person, is a rare combination and will stay in demand. This role builds all three, at the frontier and across industries. From here the path can lead to running client work, shaping new offerings, or building something of your own. The role grows with what you show you can own.

Job Requirements*

What you bring on day one

  • 3+ years in roles where rigor and output mattered: consulting, analytics, data science, solutions or forward-deployed engineering, product, or a business you ran
  • Hands-on building in Python, SQL and more: getting data out of an API, reshaping it, and producing something a non-technical person can act on
  • LLMs used inside a pipeline, building evals and continous improvement loops
  • An instinct for when the data is wrong
  • Clear explanations, in writing and in the room, for people who do not care how it was built
  • Follow-through without being chased
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity independently
  • Low-ego, high-agency
  • Discretion. You will see client data and firm-level information
  • Based in Atlanta and working from our Sandy Springs office, with client travel
  • Eligible to work in the US

Preferred

  • Work in or alongside private equity, portfolio operations or owner-led companies
  • A customer-facing technical role: solutions, implementation or forward-deployed engineering
  • Something you started from zero: a company, a function, a product

Not required

  • Deep industry expertise. You learn it here, with experienced advisers alongside
  • An ML research background, a software engineering title, an MBA or prior consulting experience
