Who You Are 

The Maintenance Support Worker is an entry-level support role responsible for general groundskeeping, light facility maintenance, basic equipment support, and shop/site cleanup at Kinetic Custom Trailers. This position helps keep the yard, shop, equipment, and work areas safe, clean, organized, and operational.

This role is suited for someone with 1–3 years of experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, facilities support, construction labour, shop labour, or a similar hands-on role. The position requires a practical mindset, willingness to learn, and the ability to complete a variety of small maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities 

General Maintenance Support

• Perform light maintenance tasks around the shop, yard, office, and site areas.
• Assist with minor repairs to fixtures, work areas, doors, shelving, benches, and basic shop infrastructure.
• Support quick fixes on non-critical tools, equipment, carts, stands, and facility items.
• Report larger equipment issues, safety hazards, or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Groundskeeping and Yard Support

• Perform general landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, and snow/ice removal as needed.
• Keep walkways, entrances, parking areas, and yard spaces clear and presentable.
• Assist with organizing outdoor storage areas, materials, bins, and general yard cleanliness.
• Support seasonal maintenance tasks.

Painting, Carpentry, and Small Projects

• Complete basic painting, touch-ups, patching, and surface preparation.
• Assist with simple carpentry tasks such as building, repairing, or modifying shelves, benches, storage areas, or basic wooden structures.
• Help with small improvement projects around the facility.
• Use basic hand and power tools safely and appropriately.

Cleaning and Shop Support

• Perform general cleaning duties in shop, yard, lunchroom, washroom, storage, and common areas.
• Remove garbage, scrap, debris, and unused materials from work areas.
• Sweep, pressure wash, organize, and maintain high-traffic areas.
• Assist production teams by keeping workspaces clear and safe.

Equipment and Tool Support

• Assist with basic tool and equipment checks.
• Perform simple, non-specialized fixes where safe and appropriate.
• Help move, clean, organize, or prepare equipment for use.
• Identify when repairs require a qualified mechanic, electrician, millwright, or other licensed trade.

Required Qualifications 

• 1–3 years of experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, construction labour, shop labour, facilities support, or a similar hands-on role.
• Basic experience using hand tools and common power tools.
• Ability to complete physical labour in a shop, yard, and outdoor environment.
• Strong attention to safety, housekeeping, and organization.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
