About Kinetic Custom Trailers
At KINETIC, we don’t just build trailers, we engineer custom solutions that push the boundaries of design, functionality, and quality. As a leader in the custom trailer manufacturing industry, we take pride in creating smart, efficient designs that meet the unique needs of every client, no matter how complex or specialized.
Kinetic Custom Trailers designs and manufactures heavy-duty custom trailers for the oil & gas, construction, energy, transportation, and specialized equipment sectors. With established operations in Canada and a growing manufacturing operation in Waco, Texas, we combine practical design, disciplined engineering, and operational excellence to deliver custom-built solutions across North America.
We are entering an important stage of growth in Waco and are strengthening the systems, leadership, and supply discipline needed to support a larger, more mature manufacturing organization.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing, supplier management, materials, inventory, logistics, and supply chain process improvement for our Waco manufacturing operation, while coordinating with our Canadian operation.
This is a hands on leadership role with a clear path toward broader senior responsibility. The right candidate will not simply maintain purchasing activity; they will build reliable systems, improve supplier performance, strengthen our ERP/MRP discipline, and protect production material flow.
Key Responsibilities

- Purchasing strategy, supplier management, materials availability, inventory discipline, logistics, and related ERP/MRP processes for the USA operation.
- Mentor and manage the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Build and nurture supplier partnerships to drive quality, cost savings, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements that support long-term growth.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and market trend analysis.
Inventory & Logistics Oversight
- Design and refine inventory management systems, ensuring accurate counts and optimized stock levels.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, balancing efficiency, cost, and timeliness.
- Reliable material flow to support production schedules, customer commitments, quality, and cost control.
- Inventory accuracy, cycle count discipline, reorder processes, long-lead visibility, and working capital awareness.
- Sourcing support for steel, raw materials, components, systems, consumables, and other critical production inputs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering for drawings, specifications, and part substitutions.
- Partner with finance on budgeting, cost analysis, and ERP reporting.
- Collaborate with operations to anticipate and resolve bottlenecks.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Implement ERP system enhancements (Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus).
- Standardize procurement workflows and establish internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. trade, import/export, and safety regulations.
- Creation of reporting dashboards, process controls, and workflows to reduce dependency on informal or person-dependent systems.
Special Projects
- Lead initiatives such as supply chain digitization, vendor consolidation, and logistics optimization.
- Development of Supply Chain Department through company growth, including buyers, planning, inventory, and logistics support.
What Does Success Look Like?
- Production has better visibility to material risks before they become production problems.
- Inventory is accurate, controlled, and trusted.
- Suppliers are measured, managed, and developed instead of handled transaction by transaction.
- ERP/MRP data, purchasing controls, and material planning become stronger and consistently used.
- Supply Chain becomes a business advantage, not just an expediting function.
- The Supply Chain department is structured to support the next stage of growth for USA operations.
