About the role

Working closely with a Senior Associate in our Public Liability practice, you will provide hands-on legal and administrative support while gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day management of plaintiff personal injury claims.

This is a great opportunity to learn directly from an experienced personal injury lawyer and build practical skills that will support your future legal career.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Arranging medical appointments and managing client diaries
• Drafting correspondence and other legal documentation
• Reviewing client files and contacting clients to obtain instructions
• Assisting with drafting client statements
• Preparing correspondence to insurers and other parties
• Assisting with evidence gathering and reviewing medical records
• Drafting letters of instruction to medical practitioners
• Supporting the Senior Associate with file management and general administrative tasks
• Assisting with the progression of Public Liability claims
• Communicating with clients professionally and empathetically

About you

We are looking for a law student who is keen to gain meaningful practical experience and develop a career in personal injury law.

You will ideally have:

• Current tertiary study in Law
• Some previous experience or a genuine interest in personal injury law
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities
• Confidence communicating with clients professionally and empathetically
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Previous legal administration, clerk or paralegal experience is advantageous but not essential

Most importantly, you will be someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work and wants to build a strong foundation for a career in personal injury law.
