The Technical Product Manager, Healthcare Interoperability & Integration owns the technical integration layer connecting AppealAssist and CareAssist to customer data and EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, and others), embedded launch, data write-back, and admin/tenant configuration. This is a technically-oriented product role requiring fluency in healthcare data standards, partnering closely with engineering to deliver integration capability across both products.
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Experience with HL7/FHIR standards, EMR integration credentials (e.g., Epic proficiency badges), or a background in health informatics.
- 4+ years of product or technical product management experience, with direct experience integrating with EMR systems (Epic and/or Cerner) in a healthcare SaaS environment.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7v2, FHIR, ADT feeds) and EMR integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Confluence.
Skills
- Ability to translate technical integration requirements into clear specifications for engineering.
- Strong collaboration skills working directly with customer IT/informatics teams during implementation and onboarding.
- Comfortable owning a technically deep scope shared across both products.
- Skilled at scoping integration work for new customer onboarding and estimating effort and complexity.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause skills for integration issues spanning product and customer environments.
Primary Job Duties
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Integration Ownership: Own the roadmap and requirements for EMR integration (embedded launch, write-back, data ingestion) across both AppealAssist and CareAssist.
- Onboarding Support: Scope and support integration work for new customer onboarding, including EMR-specific configuration and data mapping.
- Admin & Configuration: Own requirements for admin/tenant configuration capabilities customers use to manage their own settings.
- Cross-Product Standards: Maintain consistent integration patterns across both products to avoid duplicated or divergent technical approaches.
- Engineering Partnership: Work closely with engineering to scope, sequence, and validate integration builds, including technical design discussions.
- Customer-Facing Technical Liaison: Serve as the product-side technical point of contact for customer IT/informatics teams during implementation.
- Issue Triage: Investigate and prioritize integration-related bugs and customer-reported issues with engineering and support.
